Re: Holy lip sync

With the exception Gaga, everyone lip syncs when they are dancing also.

She is 50 after all

She should wrap herself in some dignity and get out of the way. Retire already.

Re: Madonna Superbowl Performance Thread

Color is an important aspect of existence, my dear. Color is never chosen at random and every color has a significance and reason.

And yet, given that you stated that(it's actually the one thing you're right about here - color does have some significance), you just plucked out one reason - an overtly negative one - and placed it as the gospel truth. There is no proof whatsoever that choosing to use the color black is an overlay into the satanic anymore than if she had chosen white that it'd be the reverse, my darling. I mean, priests and nuns wear black - would you accuse them of satanism simply because the grand reverend of that fiery demon dons it?

As I stated, is that the best you can do?

That may be too much for you to understand and you might find it funny, many special people do.

See, you might be thinking you're being clever tossing off insults towards me, but they only serve to undermine your ability to have an adult discussion and debate. Plus it seems to cut the next thing you say (in bold) into shreds.

Also it is not the best I can do but some queens on this forum cannot handle a hot topic and had my thread deleted because they were unable to control their little minds from exploding at the evidence.

Sorry sweetheart, but there is a reason that people don't pick chihuahuas as attack dogs. And you're exhibiting some classic chihuahua behavior here(meaning you seem to think you're bigger and badder than you really are).

Just outside the top 10, Madonna roars onto the Hot 100 at No. 13 with "Give Me All Your Luvin'," featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. The first single from Madonna's 12th studio album, "MDNA," due March 26, blasts onto Digital Songs at No. 7 (115,000) and Radio Songs at No. 28 (44 million).

Like Clarkson, Her Madgesty enjoyed a Super Bowl spotlight, having performed "Luvin'," along with portions of her past smashes, at the big game's halftime festivities. The track also received special attention from Clear Channel Media and Entertainment's more than 50 monitored pop stations, which played it at the top of every hour from Friday at 9 a.m. ET until kickoff Sunday night.

"Luvin' " marks Madonna's 56th Hot 100 appearance, tying her with Dionne Warwick for the second-most visits among women. Only the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin (73 entries), outdistances the Queen of Pop and Warwick in the category.

The No. 13 Hot 100 entrance of "Luvin' " ties 1992's "Erotica" for Madonna's fourth-highest. She arrived at loftier ranks only with "Ray of Light" (No. 5, 1998), "You'll See" (No. 8, 1995) and "Frozen" (No. 8, 1998).

Re: The New Madonna song is Horrible

I like her Golden Globe winning song much better and it will be on the new album.

13?! Fuck, even AFTER a record breaking in viewership performance at the Super Bowl?

Thought this thread would be blowing up with the return of The Queen, like Gaga's thread did a year ago. Hm...

Sorry Huntneo, I didn't see that post the first time! I heard 30 second clips of Girls Gone Wild, Turn Up The Radio, and I think the third was Superstar...

Sometimes it's hard to tell from thirty seconds but... I didn't like Girls Gone Wild at all. The third song was really bad... but Turn Up The Radio was alright... Just alright...

Beyond that of course; Masterpiece and GMAYL. Both of which I love!

Re: The New Madonna song is Horrible

I also think it's horrible, and I like her songs as recently as Confessions on A Dance Floor. Very disappointed with this latest song from her.

I find this song boring and dull. She needs to find new writers who can come up with good melodies and hooks and then add her name to it so she can get credit and $$$ from the song writing.

It also sounds like parts of the song are doubled over with a different singer who can sing well correcting her notes.

Re: The New Madonna song is Horrible

As a life-long Madonna fan...No, it's not her best work, by far. Actually, I'm really disappointed with the new song. (When it hits Nicki and M.I.A.'s parts it's actually pretty fun, but it's so little. She barely used them).

I'm also disappointed with the new video. It kind of just feels like she's going through the motions.

I thought she would go for a Kylie-esqe vibe...and bring out some of the homo-erotic undertones in Football.
So much she could have done there...

I know she likes her 'irony' and being 'tongue in cheek', and it does have a fun, goofy, light-hearted "Material Girl" vibe...but it just doesn't quite hit the mark. At all.

And why? Because I know Queen Maddy can do so much better.
Yes, I have high standards, but that's because the Pop Icons I love - like Janet, Kylie, and Madonna - have set the bar so high, I expect it from them.

That being said, I do look forward to the album (I like the preview... It seems like it's going to have a light-hearted, club feel). And the cover has a very 'Kylie X' era vibe...

But truthfully, she seems to have more of a sparkle in her eyes when she talks about her movie, W.E., than when she talks about new music.

Re: The New Madonna song is Horrible

She just appeared on the Super Bowl. Not hard to break records with publicity like that - generic song or not.

This was not a "godly" apparition - this was great marketing.

#13 is actually an amazing debut considering the leak. And the Superbowl was really irrelevant for the song's debut because the charting week ended literally four hours after Madonna's performance when the biggest day of sales for GMAYL were on Monday so far, which counts for this charting week. It was not added to radio or available for purchase until Friday, so GMAYL debuted at #13 based on three days of sales/airplay rather than the full seven that every other song on the chart had. It will be this full week of airplay/sales that will show how high GMAYL will go, most likely.

I so hope it will hit #1 as it would be awesome to see her at the top again, but it's been unable to hit #1 on the iTunes sales because the single was reset after MDNA's pre-order offer ended when the new charting week began. Which really SUCKED because she was literally about to overtake Kelly Clarkson to claim #1 on iTunes when GMAYL got reset. And if she doesn't hit #1 this week, I think Adele is going to block her off after she wins eight million Grammys on Sunday. :/

exhibit A of what happens when you dance and (try to) sing at the same time when you don't have the lungs to do so. you huff and puff into the mic, gasping for air while relying heavily on playback.
I'm sure halftime show viewers really want to hear those breathing noises. so shut up already about the lipsynching already.

A real good singer who is secure can just stand at the mic and sing and be amazing, she doesn't have to put on a whole show. And if you want to do a show and sing live tone down your dancing so you are not out of breath.

What Madonna did was shit and proof that she is only marginally good in the studio. I bet they have to record her syllable by syllable and splice it together, She can't sing live, she's not a singer.

Re: The New Madonna song is Horrible

The song would be 100X better if Nicki Minaj and MIA had more than 30 seconds combined. Totally wasted. I really hope just Nicki and MIA decide to make a song together one day. Their rap styles compliment each other perfectly.

And as gay as I am, DAMN, Nicki looks absolutely gorgeous in the music video. That cheerleading get up has to be her best outfit to date.

I think it's sad people still attack Madonna about her age. They only do it because it is such an easy target. They all know good and well though that she looks great for her age. I'm not even a Madonna fan, but respect should be given.

Re: The New Madonna song is Horrible

and its lovely that you "haven't heard" of "Hung Up"
but no one really cares because it still broke records regardless of what you know or don't know.

The records you thought you heard breaking were people smashing her shitty CD.
