The old Madonna vs Thee New improved Madonna, or Ester, I really liked her when she was brand new in Like A Virgin days and then Like A Prayer, but,her latest songs are ok. Madonna she's all right.

Is the old Madonna that you are talking about, the young Madonna?

She has been pretty consistent at moving with the times - but I'd settle for the middle Madonna - Like A Prayer remains my favourite CD of hers.

I like the fact the she always owned her looks. Did not like the True Blue look (short Blond hair time!) But the early Madonna was fun and the later Madonna is cool!

She certainly acts more maturely and dresses much better, but her ego is so huge. I've never been able to get past that and I've observed her since day one. She's had a few songs I've really liked over the years, but I can't say I've ever been a true fan.

I was a fan for quite a while but then she started re-releasing old material and I went off her. Haven't bought any of her albums since Like A Prayer (or Dick Tracy, whichever came later). I bought a few of her later singles (Frozen, Beautiful Stranger). However I hate this "gay" album she's done, "Confessions...". Why does she have to play to the gay stereotype? Are gay men only supposed to like pop music and dance music?

I love her during her peak years - when whatever she released became hits. I am ok with her songs in the 2000s, but I don't dig these albums as easily as her 80's albums, except for Confession, of course.

Look at Like A Virgin, Material Girl and Papa Don't Preach. Still being imitated and sang in movies.

I love the 80's Madonna cause I was in high school and jr high. I loved the 90's Madonna cause I was in college and going out to gay bars and dancing to the remixes. Who's that girl? was my first concert in 1987. So I am partial to that madonna. But Like a prayer has to be my fav. I remember running home from school in 10th grade to watch the Mtv premiere of that video and going to my first gay bar at 15 and dancing to Keep it together. I did start early.I have a lot of memories linked to Madonna and my early years so I will always be a fan.

Many things have changed throughout the years. New homes, new friends, new relationships. One thing that has never changed is my love for Madonna. She was, is and always will be a true icon.

I prefer the earlier and middle Madonnas. I have no problem with her continuing her career, and trying new things. But, IMHO, her last three albums haven't had enough Madonna on them. She ends up sounding more like a guest star on someone else's album. She's always been able to form great symbiotic relationships with producers, but as of late, I feel they're overshadowing her. I hope this isn't indicative that she's running out of things to offer.

I have loved her music throughout her whole career.
The Girlie Show was the first concert I went to.. and the only Madonna one because she hasn't come back here. Music is my favourite Madonna album.
