Re: Who has "The Immaculate Collection" by Madonna?

I've got it. I quite like it. Two complaints. One is that it was mixed in "Q Sound", which was hip in 1990, but now just sounds like someone left the delay button on. Secondly, every song got a (modest) remix treatment. I would've prefered a straight-up "singles version" collection.

Lex

I hated the remixes for "Vogue" and "Like a prayer". But I have to admit "Express yourself" has a better version here than it had on the original release.

Re: Who has "The Immaculate Collection" by Madonna?

Love the album and I'm always listening to Vogue. I think it's one of the best compilation albums ever, though it's a shame True Blue isn't included.

Re: Who has "The Immaculate Collection" by Madonna?

It was the very first CD that I got. Up to that time it was Madonna on cassette for me (I still have the scented cassette sleeve for "Like A Prayer" - and it still smells).

I remember being really excited by the remixes and changes on the album - especially "Express Yourself". But my two favourite songs are "Vogue" and "Into the Groove" - so much style and fun.

And when is the girl going to release a complete videography collection? A deluxe DVD set is so overdue.

Madonna on her new album and the forthcoming "Immaculate Trinity"

Pop superstar Madonna is set to part company with her record label after her current deal expires, according to her publicist. The Material Girl is signed to Warner Music Group (WMG), but is in talks to leave the label after releasing the two remaining albums left on her contract with WMG. Madonna is reportedly considering a move to LA-based promotions company and venue owner LiveNation in a deal rumored to be worth $100 million, but will have to honor her commitments with her current label. It is expected she will release her forthcoming album later this year and her third greatest hits compilation, after 1990's Immaculate Collection and 2001's GHV2, according to her publicist Liz Rosenberg. Speaking to FoxNews, Rosenberg says, "Once that's done, Madonna is a free agent. Her management is considering a move to another company."

Re: New Madonna track: "The Beat Goes On"

Wow I havent liked much by her but I really like this song alot.

Re: Madonna on her new album and the forthcoming "Immaculate Trinity"

I can't really see how another company would offer her $100 million for a new contract.

Don't get my wrong I do enjoy Madonna,

But how many albums does she really have left in her? What if she brakes a hip? She is gonna be 50 years old next year. (Its so strange that she is 2 months younger than my dad!)

Hey, she's 50, not 70!!!

And judging for her last tour, her hip is stronger than ever. So it is the rest of her amazing body.

Re: Madonna on her new album and the forthcoming "Immaculate Trinity"

^^^ Relatively speaking, 50 is not "old" for a world class performer. Look at Tina Turner (68], Barbra Streisand (65) and so many others (even Jay Leno is 57!) who are still making millions everytime they open their mouths. They are just crossing that line into becoming "living legends". Madonna will continue to make millions in the years to come if she so chooses. She is still far from the retirement homes and "condo commando" crowd.

I guess it's all relative. You may think your parents are "old" because they are your parents. Maybe it is more that you are still very young. Talent knows no age. The music and entertainment world is filled with 50+ performers who are the standard for those to come.

Re: Madonna on her new album and the forthcoming "Immaculate Trinity"

Yeah, Madonna's ticket prices are way too much. Not only doesn't she ever visit my country when she's on tour (so i have to make a trip to another country if I want to see her), asking so much money for a single ticket is kinda ripping off her fans. I do know her shows are amazing. I saw her once, but only because i got a free ticket. But I remember seeing Mariah Carey, at one of the highest points in her career. I only payed 40 euros for great seats, and that show lasted for almost 3 hours.

Anyway, I am curious about Madonna her new cd. I like R&B alot, and really want to hear what the result will be. And I hope that news about another greatest hits isn't true. That's way too fast for another one again.

Re: New Madonna track: "The Beat Goes On"

What happened to her promised rock album? :(

Re: New Madonna track: "The Beat Goes On"

Wow, I really didn't like it. Madonna is just like all the other pop stars now. Every song they do has a black guy going 'hey' 'What?' 'yo' in the background. This is really bad. Hopefully the stuff she did with Timbaland and JT is better.

Re: New Madonna track: "The Beat Goes On"

It's not bad, catchy but it doesn't have that Madonna feel to it. Does she really need to do the whole R'n'B thing like every other artist right now? Hope the rest of her album has better songs.

Re: New Madonna track: "The Beat Goes On"

Sounds more like "the beat goes wrong"
sorry maddy :(

Re: Madonna on her new album and the forthcoming "Immaculate Trinity"

I don't want to hate on Madonna, but she is really just money hungry.

What kind of person really charges $250 for a concert ticket. That is why she makes so much money on tour. Lots and lots of acts sell out their tours, but they charge much more reasonable prices!

Urgh! Haven't you heard? She has starving children in Africa she has to feed these days.
