Re: Madonna's new CD "Hard Candy!" [merged]

Miles away will flop in the US most definatley....

The album would make a considerable comeback on the billobard 200 if she releases, candy shop, beat goes on, or devil wouldnt recognize you!

Re: Madonna's new CD "Hard Candy!" [merged]

ok, how about:

love don't live here anymore
stay
the look of love
oh, father
promise to try
spanish eyes
sooner or later
this used to be my playground
i'll remember
in this life
rain
bad girl
inside of me
love tried to welcome me
forbbiden love
sanctuary
you'll see
you must love me
the power of good-bye
substitute for love
time stood still
gone
paradise not for me
x-static process
intervention
easy ride........

I left out a few as expected #-o the ray of light gems and Oh Father make my list as GREAT Madonna songs. The rest are prety bland. Some I like a lot some not so much, but non of them are classics. Her ballads are in no way as good as her party songs. (!)

and btw I think Madonna is crazy couse she always release stupid dances songs as a single but her ballades are more powerful and better then most ballades who are singles at the time.

Miles away is great and it will be #1 here in europe and in the world.. and who gives a shit about USA .. it is so irrelevant for her to be #1 there when she is #1 in the world..

USA has mariah scarey, beyonce, rihanna and other shitty 'artists' we have her Madgesty.. :p

Re: Madonna's new CD "Hard Candy!" [merged]

"Hard Candy" is a pretty good album. While it's far from her best, it's definately not her worst. I really enjoyed "4 Minutes," "Give It To Me," and "Dance Tonight." This is definately a step-up from "Confessions On A Dance Floor," in my opinion. With "Hard Candy," Madonna proves why she is the best. Here's is my ranking of Madonna's albums:

1. Like A Prayer
2. Bedtime Stories
3. American Life
4. Ray Of Light
5. Erotica
6. True Blue
7. Music
8. Madonna
9. Like A Virgin
10. I'm Breathless
11. Hard Candy
12. Confessions On A Dance Floor

Re: Madonna Miles Away...

Madonna is just too old

She should just die. I guess life is over for her. Maybe if she was young like Britney, Lindsey, or Paris she could be doing all the great youthful relevant things they are doing. Geez!

Re: Madonna Miles Away...

nice one Bluedragon. Cause clearly the youth of this country are doing so well. I say we lock her and miley Cyrus in a room and see who comes out alive. It will ALWAYS be Her Madgesty.

Hello, I was sticking up for her you fool! LOL. Go back and read my response again. Jimmo4 said she was "just to old" and I responded well she should just die than. That means life is not over at 50. I guess you don't know what sarcastic is yet. Clueless much? lol. I don't think I could have been any clearer to be honest.

Re: Madonna Miles Away...

Bluedragon, some people don't get sarcasm.

She's not "too old", age is a number.

Fact is, she's stopped making interesting or experimental/challenging music, so I can't be bothered with this album era. It stinks of money-grabbing and people-pleasing, which pisses me off.

Cool vid though.

I love how you think paris and lindsay are doing "relevent" things......hahaha...whatever..Madonna is doing the most relevant things, she came out with a documentary called "iam, because we are".....what has paris or lindsay done?? nothing

Re: Madonna Miles Away...

bluedragon4 was being sarcastic and pro-Madonna...which is how all gay men should be. <lol> ;)

Re: Madonna's "hard candy"

yeah, i have the same feeling for the album! i think its a great album...but not as good as most of her previous efforts, dance 2night, DWRY, candy shop, incredible, and beat goes on are great tracks...

Re: Madonna's "hard candy"

It's a phoned in album.

If you track down the original demos, Heartbeat sounds the same but has Pharrell singing with the Pussycat ho doing background and most of the finished product sounds the same as the demos with the exception of Beat Goes On, not to mention that the vocals sound harsh and metallic.

For someone who is usually extremely involved with her albums it's as if she could not have given two shits about making this one. After all it is her last for Warner, I doubt she feels the need to make it a big deal. It's kind of sad that it hasn't even sold more than American Life which by all accounts was a big flop.

I kind of wish she would start experimenting again but at this stage of her career I doubt she even has her heart in it. At least we have Like A Prayer, Erotica and Ray of Light.

Something a la "I Want You" would suit her well.

Re: Madonna's "hard candy"

Yes well I have to agree. You can't even crank it to really groove cause it hurts my ears. I think "confessions" was her fiercest work by far and may have been hard to top.
Could all the rumours of divorce have something to do with it? Or we might expect a calculated move such as blowing it out of the water with her next album for the new contract.

Re: Madonna's "hard candy"

"Phoned-in" pretty well covers it. I for one didn't like American Life at all, but at least it sounded like she was reaching on there - trying something different. I didn't think Confessions was "innovative" or anything, but it was a good straightforward club/dance record, something she actually hadn't done since her debut. Usually, she hooks up with various producers and collaborators, and manages to synergize with them well. HC sounds like she said, "Give me some beats to sing over."

Considering the fact that she released not-one-but-two live albums for Confessions, I've got the feeling that HC is precisely what it sounds like - a contract-breaker. She owed Sire/Warner one more album, and so didn't bother breaking a sweat on it to earn her freedom. Contract-breakers tend to be hastily tossed together, but they still can at least be interesting. (Prince's Chaos & Disorder is one.) But this one - enh. Maybe she's saving her good moves for when she's free of the label. But the pressure is gonna be on for that next album...
