Am I the only one who can't stand Madonna? I mean, shes doing to much to try and be 25 again. I must admit, Hung up was a classy dance song but other than that, shes getting dry. Also if her cheek bones get any higher shes going to look chinese...

I don't think the messages or the theme on American Life ruined her career. Instead, I feel like her eating humble pie in wake of the American Life video where she mocks GWB was a big set back for her.

For someone who has made their career on controversy and freedom of speech, suddenly she backed down like a dog with its tail between its legs. She let her fans down, it's the first time she stepped away from fanning the flames. She no longer was the hero of the left, she did not stand by her piece of art, instead she appeased and backed down to the American Right.

Perhaps she didn't want a Dixie Chicks kinda backlash, but I have more respect for Natalie Maines standing by her opinions and actions than Madonna. And I'm a huge Madonna fan, American Life was her Waterloo.

I think "American Life" is one of the best pop records of the decade. I know I'll get slaughtered.

I actually think that American life is a fantastic album. I was reluctant to get it at the time due to the amount of bad reviews it received but it's oddly my mostly played Madonna album. Apart from that silly rap she does about how many servants she has, it's a good listen. Now i'm not saying it's a masterpiece but it's not that bad either.
As for destroying her career? Yeah she's pretty much homeless now last time I checked.

i just watched it NOW.. omg i went off on a trail of thought and totally came off racist because my cat was interfering and didnt get to make the full point till the end
