Much ado about nothing--way over-produced. Anyway, she never had much of a voice. (Although I know that's hardly a major impediment for a pop star.) Tired material and ATH like most of the rich but has-been badly-aged stars (Seinfeld, Broderick, etc.) in the commercials, Clint being the exception. Loose some weight Matthew!

WOULD HAVE PREFERRED THE GAME WITHOUT THE GLITZ.
Glad to see a victorious Eli Manning.

Well, I missed it live, but I just watched it on HULU...

Look, I've been giving Madonna a lot of shit the past couple of days just because... Well, just because it's FUN to enter a "roomful" of gay men and start dissing Madonna.

But, IMHO, that performance was *awful*

For goodness sake, she can't even lip-sync well.

U2, Springsteen, hell even Aerosmith were FAR better than that dog and pony show she put on tonight.

Flash, fashion, smoke and mirrors have *always* been part of the "Madonna experience", but, again, IMO, tonight just sucked.

I found myself looking forward to "Ray of Light", but even that was not to be.

At least her teeth didn't fall out.

Hardly a has been. Madonna has been going strong for 30 years now. Who else really can top that? Thing for me, being 47,, is that Madonna really has been a part of my life since I left high school. I remember in 1983 hearing her songs from her firs album, I remember going to school in France in n1986 during the True Blue album period, and Desperately Seeking Susan (and seeing the posters in Rome "Ceracare Susanna Desperamente... or something like that lol).

Anyway, I was glad to see her perform. It brought back memories of how much Madonna (and Depeche mode) has been a part of me since I have been of age. She's still going strong. Gives me hope!

Madonna was ok. Of course its always been about performance with her so it was about what I expected.

Highlight of the evening was Kelly Clarksons national anthem though.

The Madonna Half Time Super Glitz and Glam show was better than I thought it would be given the fact that we watched it.

Of course, it wasn't good because of her non-singing and LFMAO made Music last so long that I wanted to rip their hair out. But Cee-lo saved it for me. And don't think I didn't see your middle finger, M.I.A. - yeah, you're so hardcore on bad Madonna song with the worst part ON that song. :roll:

So there you have it.

Nicki Minaj is god. Not quite sure why she thought featuring on that... song, would be a good idea.

I don't really think anyone should try to compare this to a Madonna concert. This was a special-purpose show designed for the Super Bowl audience and an audience of millions of TV viewers. She did nothing controversial, just did her thing, and the performers surrounding her were all excellent, in my opinion, and added value and interest to the show. Sadly, lip-syncing is a tradition for many performers at the Super Bowl, so that's nothing new. I remember Jewel still having her mouth closed when the recording of her singing the national anthem started. And a horrible halftime show during Super Bowl XXXII in 1998, at which the recorded sound was so messed up that poor Martha Reeves sounded like she was gargling. They should have just let it be live singing, no matter what it sounded like it would have been better than that awful recording. I thought Madonna's show was one of the best visually in quite a long time, at least since Prince's if not before that.

To be honest, I fail to see what was so spectacular about her performance. Yes, she was surrounded by endless props, changing lights, projected landscapes and the usual paraphernalia that she uses to "deliver" an entertaining show - on that level she is always successful. However, that doesn't mask the fact that she is a barely mediocre singer at best and an awful dancer, who has had to turn herself into an all around brand in order to succeed. She is certainly not an artist. Or, if she could be considered one, she is not an even remotely good one.

Madonna sells us her image, rather than her creations, and that is blatantly obvious. While some of her songs might be more enjoyable than others, she is just a living promotional campaign all by herself and most of her success, is dependant on how much controversy and scandals she can generate. Sadly, the music most definitely doesn't stand on its own, as she has no soul, no depth and not an ounce of talent. What she is, though, is a master at prestidigitation and presenting what amounts to smoke, mirrors and much pretension, as something worthy of awe and admiration.

Yes, the show was entertaining. So would it have been with anyone who had enjoyed all that support. Nothing new about that. However, I wonder how she would fared if the pre-recorded vocals, twirling dancers, moving platforms, blinking lights, Gospel choruses, guest "artists" and special effects hadn't been there... I am sure she would have crashed and burned, for the simple fact that she is a disaster whenever she doesn't have a million things around her, dazling everyone into forgetting how crappy she really is.

By the way, why is it that 9 out of 10 gay men feel the need to worship her and present her as an advocate? What exactly has she done for anyone but herself, let alone the gay or any other communities?

^Even as a non-Madonna stan(and as a metalhead, far and away from the pop scene as it is), I feel compelled to rip you to shreds.

Luckily, wrestling is on, so I'll just laugh about the thought you put into all of this and ask, if you thought the show was entertaining, why do you think it didn't serve its' purpose?

good, catchy song. She was great on the half-time show! Fantastic performer and she looks great in this video. Similar to "Material Girl" video which is one of her best.

Thats Ok. There is so much great music on the radio right now I really can't complain overall. Music video is entertaining at least.
