It's almost as if I'm noticing her music becoming progressively juvenile as she ages. I'm not saying she needs to be singing Celine Dion type ballads, but damn...L-U-V Madonna! really?

Yeah, that's an interesting comment. I think it might be a combination of things - some music lovers/critics/purists insist that today's pop/dance music is getting more simplistic/inane as an overall trend, although it can be hard to separate that out from the "Well back in my day...!" arguments of those people just growing older and their nostalgia for the sound of that time. So we may not expect something as sophisticated as the "Ray of Light" album which is over a decade old, or even some of her earlier stuff (think of the "Like A Prayer" album - ambitious and all over the map in terms of influences/styles/artistic chances).

I wonder if "Ray of Light" (as textured and wonderful as it is) would totally bomb if it were to come out today because the public is used to Lady Gaga or Katy Perry or Justin Bieber with relatively repetitive, simple, straight-ahead songs that are based on repetition, and not long, lilting melodies or dense or unusual textures/instrumentation. Lady Gaga may take chances artistically with her look or personas, but does she take those same chances musically?

The second thing also could be that in her/her producers' calculated attempt to appeal to a younger audience, they're approaching the music in this way - what they believe the current sound/trends are, as my paragraph above - and have slightly misstepped/misjudged it. Sort of like a 40-something soccer Mom trying to be completely cool with her teenage daughter's friends and missing the trends, lol. But I would have to give Madonna more credit than that because she's had longevity in the business and that doesn't come from misjudging any sort of trend.

I definitely think Madonna's dumber lyrics since COADF have been a combination of her trying to play it safe after American Life flopped, her being afraid of her own aging, and since HC her not being as into music itself compared to all of the other things going on in her life (divorce, adoption, boy toys, directing movies, fashion lines, etc).

GMAYL really did not have a long shelf life at all. I think a lot of hardcore fans accepted that last week was going to be her peak because the single hasn't been selling as much. But, hey, I'm glad she was able to squeeze another top ten out of a song that leaked back in NOVEMBER.

It would have really sucked for her if she got #11 last week, meaning she would have been in the top ten but was bumped because of I Will Always Love You... lol.

Madonna Denies Britney Spears MDNA Collaboration.

Madonna has denied reports that Britney Spears will feature on her new album, MDNA.

Last week, Britney fansite Breathe Heavy reported that Spears had collaborated with Madge on LP opener Girls Gone Wild, with a leaked version of the tune appearing on the website.

The Queen of Pop has since dismissed rumours of a duet with Brit, telling Ryan Seacrest that she has not teamed up with Spears on her forthcoming record.

When asked about the allegations, the 53-year old replied: "Is Britney on what track? No, it's just little old me. She could come on stage and perform it with me if she wants."

Please let this happen!!!!(!)

The Queen of Pop and the Princess of Pop collaborating once again will be heaven :):gogirl:

Madonna's second single from forthcoming album MDNA - "Girl Gone Wild"

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBMiYJ7kzbI[/ame]

On first listen, I like it more than Give Me All Your Luvin'. It's more dance oriented, a genre of music I really like (dance pop).

It reminds me a bit of "Hung Up" a few years ago or something like a faster paced "Music".

Thoughts?

Love it!! Can't wait for the concert!!

Re: Madonna's second single from forthcoming album MDNA - "Girl Gone Wild"

I actually have it on repeat now I really like it. It's insanely catchy. She could use better lyrics though.

Lately it feels like she doesn't try anymore with her music. Then again with all the millions she rakes in from her concerts and what not she doesn't need to...

Re: Madonna's second single from forthcoming album MDNA - "Girl Gone Wild"

I'm disappointed, again.

I do really like 'Masterpiece' though.

A lot of tracks on this album. I'm sure I'll really like at least one more.

I wasn't able to get tickets today for her concert. I could have bought one ticket but there wasn't two together. I think if I didn't dislike her first single so much I may have just bought one ticket and gone. I bet years from now this will be the CD she hated the most and regrets. I think she rushed it and caved in to try and make radio friendly hits. I have loved Madonna all my life but I am not blind to bad music when I hear it.

I like it much better than the first release - great beat to dance to !

Re: Madonna's second single from forthcoming album MDNA - "Girl Gone Wild"

ok i like 'give me all your luvin' and 'masterpiece', but this just sound like the cheapest, most generic kind of dance-pop.

"Girls Gone Wild" sounds like the Benny Benassi remix of "Celebration". It's also reminiscent of Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love". I agree it's generic, but I can't help but enjoy it. I like a good unpretentious pop/dance single, something Lady GaGa has lost her knack for recently. I would like some more substance from Madge, something more innovative and interesting. But she the Queen, and there's nothing more to prove.

I, personally, love "Girl Gone Wild" and don't understand the criticism of Madonna's new music. I mean, if she did an "age-appropriate" (whatever that means) album, fans would STILL be complaining. They'd say it was boring and that she's lost it.

Whether her fans know it or not, good dance-pop music is the kind of music they want to hear from Madonna.

PS - I love how she references "Sorry" (whether intentional or not) in the song!! :D

PPS - According to DanceMixUSA.com, this is an official remix for the song:

Oh Huntneo, you're not a fan of American Life are you??

It's the worst!

What do you think is her worst album?
