Is she in the U.S. already? I can't wait to see her live!!!

Oh Elton. Did y'all see this? Although, I can't argue with the part I bolded - "Ray of Light" is brilliant. :)

Elton John Calls Madonna a 'Fairground Stripper,' Says 'Her Career Is Over'
In a recent interview, the singer calls Madonna's "MDNA" tour "a disaster" and that she has been "horrible" to Lady Gaga.

Elton John is at it again.

The singer made his opinions about former friend Madonna known in an interview with Australia's Channel 7 program Sunday Night, declaring that her career was "over."

“She’s such a nightmare. Her career is over, I can tell you that," John said. "Her tour is a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c---." Madonna, who is in the middle of her MDNA world tour, was booed at a July 26 concert in Paris during which she performed for approximately 45 minutes.

John, who has been feuding with Madonna for years, went even further with his jabs -- going so far as criticizing her physical appearance.

"If Madonna had any common sense, she would have made a record like Ray of Light, stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and made great pop records, which she does brilliantly," said John, who praised Rihanna and Katy Perry.

"But no, she had to prove that she was like ...," he continued, not specifying. "And she looks like a f---ing fairground stripper."

John also said that Madonna, who called Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" "reductive" earlier this year in an ABC News interview, has "been so horrible to Gaga." Lady Gaga is godmother to one of John's sons.

This isn't the first time John has let his criticisms of Madonna known. Following this year's Golden Globes when Madonna won for best original song, John and partner David Furnish took to Facebook to slam the win. "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism," Furnish wrote at the time. He later backtracked on his statements.

Elton John is appalling. He espouses anti bullying but clearly bullies Madonna in the media. It's one thing to be mad/upset at someone but to use crass language makes Elton such a hypocrite.

On other news, I was just listening to Esperanza Spalding and in an interview she mentioned how she'd love to pattern her career after Madonna citing how despite her numerous reinventions, Madonna remains Madonna.

Steven Tyler also gave M props during his visit in Ellen.

Madonna a true icon!

Oh Elton. You sad, pathetic, old, unattractive, bastard... does it really bother you this much that you are not "Queen of the Gays"? Go ahead, keep lashing out at Madonna for having a more avid fanbase than you, and for being prettier than you, for having more radio airplay than you, and for pulling off "the bitch" better than you. The only public attention you get anymore is for talking about musicians who still matter. But it's okay Elton, we'll always remember how good you were... in the 80's... when you still mattered.

like deadmau5, trashing M is publicity for Elton. His use of foul language diminishes what little respect he has

Oops, I did not see that thread, no. Just saw this thread because I've posted into it before so I'm "subscribed", and thought it relevant. Thanks for the link!

LOL! The "bastard" just makes that sentence; it's the punctuation on it, the proverbial frosting on the cake.

Heh, when I think of highly successful/appealing/even innovative Elton John tracks, I don't think too many span beyond his 70s and 80s output. Was "The Circle of Life" the moment where he "jumped the shark"? Maybe do a quicky reworking of that Marilyn Monroe tribute track, crassly, into a Princess Diana one was also such a moment. I wonder if he had any charting singles in the last decade? Maybe I'm just not listening to those kind of radio stations or something. :)

However at least he did praise "Ray of Light". I appreciated that he appreciated it and "got" it, because I do think he's a phenomenal musical talent.

EJ just needs to go the fuck away and Madonna needs to retire, I think. If she keeps putting out shit like the last two albums, well...she's grasping at straws. I can forgive her for Hard Candy because I realize it was just fulfilling contractual obligations, but when you bring back Orbit into the mix and STILL make an album that flops like MDNA, there's a problem.

Here is Madonna's speech from her show in St. Petersberg:

I'm glad she spoke out about the injustice that is going on over there. She's amazing. Still groundbreaking after 30 years...

The Queen turns 54 today. Her fans showed her some love at her show in Oslo last night:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADONNA!

Can someone tell me Why TURN UP THE RADIO hasn't made any impact radio airplay wise? Is TUTR going to be given a USA release?

It's the third single. The last time a third Madonna single did ANYTHING in the US was What it Feels Like for a Girl, and the last one that was actually successful was Power of Goodbye. Girl Gone Wild crashed and burned so Turn Up the Radio was pretty much doomed from the start, especially with her being too busy out on tour to promote.

Turn Up the radio should have been the FIRST SINGLE!!!

I'm Addicted should have been the second single. The "Feels Like MDMA and that's Ok.. Feels like a drug and I can't get enough" would have have def impacted radio seeing how the rave scene is now seeping onto mainstream radio.
