haha people dont make sense anymore. you know that you are more critical towards the people you love. so it only makes sense that her fans would be critical about her decisions, WHILE still remaining loyal of course. something that comes abruptly like this with no warning is going to get people riled up. its like if you momma, sibling, child, family member gets married without even telling you! if they really are married, cancelling her appearances for this is disrespectful to fans and unprofessional. that is where she went wrong. if shes happy let her be happy, its just weird because nick cannon should be with christina milian or some kim kardashian hoe. overall theres too much hate on here from "mariah fans" and towards mariah fans. i didnt want to comment on this at all but this is the only thing im sayin.

anyways i wanted to say that the video isnt that great. it reminds me of cant take that away meets bringing on the heartbreak. and for a song thats supposed to be sentimental this video is kind of disturbing. why is she wearing next to no clothing in some scenes. why does she have to have a love interest in the video. its weird how she looks so fake in some scenes like trying to cry and seems like shes trying to look like a model. it feels really corny. it was nice how she included some of her fans and personal pics, that was touching.

except this isn't a close relative, it's someone most of us don't know enough personally enough to write a paragraph about. for all we know she could've been dating him for years. you can't deny that the OP sounds borderline if not overtly stalker/slave-owner-ish

true. they could have been dating since who knows when, its all speculation. that gives even more reason why they should have announced something while they were dating if they been together for that long! idk why celebs make it seem like its a bad thing when they are hiding their relationships, but at the same time i know they want their privacy. they can still have privacy and let it be known. beyonce & jayz are the best example of this. britney spears isnt on every cover because shes stalked, she goes out and looks for the attention.

yeah fans dont personally know her but when you listen to her songs every day and see her on tv all the time it feels like you do know her and thats why fans can get so attached. umm i dont even want to read the op if it sounds slaveownerish, ill take your word for it lol.

this couldn't be further from the truth. as soon as a celeb couple is known, you and i both know its paparrazzi outside the restaurant, outside their home, following them when they take an evening walk, and claiming they broke up when they get a pic where neither are smiling. you answered your own question. they keep it under wraps because they want privacy. beyonce and jay receive very little. do enough google searches and you can find pics from most of their vacations and trips and dinners. the only difference is neither talk about it very much but they're still followed. imagine how hard it is to maintain a relationship when gossip sites (and gay forums) constantly post gossip and rumors about breakups and infidelities and all kindsa craziness. the ONLY way to have a semi-normal relationship is to keep it under wraps. otherwise you have some fans turn their back on you cuz they don't like who/what/when/or how you married

of course they gonna get the stalkarrazzi after them, but not to a crazy extent that people like britney spears do. its unfortunate of all the rumors and lies being said about people. but if someones gonna be in entertainment it just comes with the territory and unfortunately theres no way out of it. if i want to work as an accountant i have to expect some long ass boring hours. if i want to work in the schools, i have to accept being bitched at daily by kids and worrying about getting shot. if i wanted to work at a pet store i have to accepting cleaning up dog shit. its just how it is and it sucks but you have to take it all or else get out of the business. cant have your cake and eat it too. if a celeb isnt getting bitched at for relationships is going to be over some little wrinkle or some fugly outfit that was worn. public figures are going to get scrutinized.

Again, just b/c you listen to their songs and see them on T.V. does not mean they have to tell their fans every detail of their life. If they choose to, fine, if they don't, respect their privacy. I think some of you get why too attached to celebs and forget the fact that they are human beings, too. I am proud of the fact that stars like Beyonce and Jay-Z keep their relationship private b/c it takes away from their professional life. It's their lives people, let them live it the way they want to. Damn!

It looks like Mariah indeed got married. I was one of the few who did not believe it one bit, but I guess People magazine's spread pretty much erases all doubt at this point.

The reason I didn't buy this whole marriage thing was because not too long ago Mariah and Mark Sudack were still mingling with each other; he has also followed her throughout most of her promo stops over the past couple of months. That's rather odd to keep him around when they apparently weren't dating anymore. All of this is too weird. But I guess that's what you'd expect from the rather odd person that is Mariah Carey. Oh well.

why are they merging like EVERY thread? i agree that there are too many mariah centered threads lately but shes relevant right now. it will eventually die down.. but whats with merging all of them into one giant thread. there has to be another way lol.

Her career is clearly not over, so why would anyone even choose that option even if they don't like her?

I love Mariah. I don't love her new album. Half of the songs are really good but it's just not her best work. But I like the fact that she doesn't really scream a lot on this album. Her vocals are more modest, and it suits her well since her voice is obviously not as good as it used to be.

"Side Effects" is FANTASTIC, and it's very sassy. I'd love to hear that song in a dance remix forum, because it could work really well. The re-mixer could just keep the vocals at the same speed, and just double the bpm. (that's the engineer in me speaking)
