I like her lyrics to most of her old music.

I will eventually have all of her albums because I enjoy them all on some level, but her older ones had a sense of longing to them that I can relate to.

I want a guy for me that would be special and treat me right. She seems to have wanted the same for a long time.

Till The End Of Time is a good example (From Emotions).

Ok. Now that I've had the CD a couple of weeks, I am totally smitten! This is a damn great CD! Love almost every song. I love the lyrics to "The Impossible". Love how Mariah compares her love to so many cool things. Especially love from 3:30 through the end where she lets loose. A tad bit similar to "We Belong Together", for a few seconds there.

The songs are so cool and she has made some great music here. Very enjoyable listening.

This is not some random shameless plug for the CD. I really and genuinely like the CD. I would rank "Memoirs" among my top 3 or 4 Mariah CDs and I have them all. Some really great songs on there.

Before I state what I do like, I must first preface with what I don't like. I don't like the image she portrays for the most part. The slutty attire and the shallowness that's attached to her public persona is not attractive to me. However, I think that the real Mariah is a very smart and clever person. I think her insecurities keep her from letting people see the real her. I've always liked her music and still do. Oddly to me, she seems to be a celebrity that people either love or hate. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground with her. And the ones that love her really love her and the ones that hate her REALLY hate her! Don't fully understand why she seems so polarizing. I like her a lot. Don't like everything about her, particularly things pertaining to her public image but I believe a lot of that is a facade. Have been a fan since day 1. Don't see that changing anytime soon. Again, I don't like everything about her but I do love her.

I'm just going to list Mariah's main studio albums and songs and you (if you want) are going to pick out which songs you thought were FAVES, which were OK and which ones were FILLER.

You don't have to do every single song, you can just pick your favorite album and do all the songs from there or just a few, it doesn't matter. Or you can even pick and choose from all the albums you've heard so far and pick and choose from those.

As long as you participate I will be happy.

Songs with a (*) by them are FAVES of mine, songs that have nothing special by them are OK to me and the ones that I thought were just plain bad will get a (-) by them.

I'm really bored and I have a lot of her albums so I will do her main ones (no Christmas album or #1's, her EP or anything like that).

to me her first 4 albums will always be great, i loved her back then. From the Butterfly era she lost me, the music got worse so was the voice and the way she's acting and dressing.

gameboy- I'll do mine in a few but I was shocked as hell to see that there is a Mariah song that I have never heard- Makin' It Last All Night. Just heard the joint on youtube. Where the hell was I when it came out? I suppose it was on the re-release of the album (along with Don't Forget About Us), right? I still can't believe I've never heard of it before.

uummmmmm where did the IWTKWLI video go? It seems like after Oprah there was no word about it and the only thing I hear now is about HATEU.

I will be highly disappointed if IWTKWLI is just passed up. It's not gonna get her another #1, but it's seems to be slowly climbing and now is the time to drop the video before it dies on the charts. Without much promotion it's already doing as well as more heavily promoted singles such as SS, TTR, & NTF. I think IWTKWLI would be a minor hit, similar to Bye Bye if it got a proper chance.
