Mariah Carey is currently my favorite singer ever! Her voice seriously isn't as good as it used to be but she knows how to pluck my heart strings so stick by her. I'm in love with the song, Dreamlover but I don't really have a favorite.
My favorite album by her is definitely Daydream though!

Yes, every once in awhile an artist speaks ill of another. But even if it's in passing - "I don't like that song" - it gets played up like some sort of major drama. "The (Artist X) - (Artist Y) FEUD!" Hell, Rufus Wainwright recently gave an interview in which he said he didn't like Beyonce's music. A few people (including a couple here) decided that meant it was soap opera time - they drew up sides and began tossing the slings and arrows of catty one-liners and claims of "jealousy".
Most artists (or their managers/wranglers) are astute enough to know this, and so unless they're looking for some ink, they encourage their artists to always find something positive to say about each other.

I'm not going to pull her apart because I think she's been the driving force behind her own career and you have to respect her for that. Some of her songs i've liked and others not so much but I do believe she has one of those voices that you either love or loathe.
There's something quite sad about individuals who slate others musical tastes. It's just snobbery and it shows the person slating the artist, just for sake of it to be a deeply insecure individual.
Someone must like the woman for her to be at the top of her game (check the record sales) so I guess she matters to someone out there.
