I don't understand how some people come to their close-minded conclusions.

I'm not close-minded. Just because I have negative opinions about Mariah, that doesn't make me a narrow-minded person. What I've stated are just opinions about her, that Mariah looks skanky and sounds snooty and anyway I don't think I'm the only person nor the first who's ever said those things online.

And here's another opinion: I have a feeling that she didn't have her way in the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" music video (the version with the snow scene), that she would've liked to dye her hair much lighter and wear holiday lingerie posing lasciviously in front of a glowing fireplace instead of romping through the snow in girl-next-door type of behavior...those are only my assumptions, therefore I could be wrong about her.

Oh, that was so blown out of proportion.

As for giving out the ice cream... uhh... since when did people NOT do crazy shit on TRL? Just the other week, I saw the Star Wars chick doing the Soulja Boy dance in high heels. Has she gone mad, too?

Looking back on it, I do think it was waaay blown out of proportion

And personally, I never understood the "giving out ice cream to an audience as a ticket to crazy-ville" scenario

And like you said, there's been a ton more random/odd ball stuff on TRL that Mariah & good point about the Natalie Portman & Soulja Boy LoL

Anyways, I think she's probably one of the most misunderstood artists out there. She does act very diva-esque most of the times but then she does or says something that goes completely against her divaness being humble and down-to-earth...you just cant tell where she stands so to speak. She can be very talented and creative IF she puts her mind and heart into it wich hasnt happened, in my opinion, since years now.
And to the person who said she's amazing live...well...she USED to be a really incredible live vocalist but nowadays she either sounds hoarse or she lipsynchs.

And yes this is coming from someone who used to be a great Mariah fan. Not anymore cause my musical taste and myself changed and I dont care for that type of music anymore though I admit she has great material but she also has really crappy material. Anyways, she's just not what she used to be...

Lol! That's actually one of Mariah's top moments for me!! That's my shit right there. I fuckin love it!
However her most crazy moment was not that TRL appearance...but the phone call she made to TRL back in 1999, she completely lost it there wich makes me love it even more! She was like "Yes Carson I'm totally nude, in the shower" and then out of the blue starts singing high notes and just venting crazy shit! LOL
I just love when people go completely loony and dont give a shit what others might think...

Hey guys, a niece of mine recently told me that she remembered a TRL episode in 2000 or 2001 where three boys, who looked like they've just got out of high school, were in a contest vying for the opportunity to have a date with Mariah and she's all sitting there cheering them on. But the day after or some days later it was announced on TRL that the date got cancelled. Is that true?

I don't need to clarify, but I'll just do it for the heck of it. When I said "boys" of course I meant the slang term for males over the age of 18, just like "boy" that's in the title "Loverboy" which is a Mariah Carey song or "boys" in the name of this website, justusboys.com.

So, has anyone seen the episode? I'm still wondering if what my niece said is true.

Mariah's album cover for "That Chick"

This is the cover for Mimi's latest outing called "That Chick" which comes out in April.

SOME EARLY REVIEWS:

Def Jam had a listening session in London on Wednesday, where they played most of Mariah and Janet's new albums. Here's a review from someone who was at that listening session:

"We got to hear 10 tracks from the follow-up, That Chick, which I have to say sounded more polished and commercial than Janet's effort.

One track in particular is set to make big bucks, and that's Bye Bye - a torch song for people "who lost they grandmothers". I guarantee that Simon Cowell will be sick of hearing badly-realised auditions of it by the end of the year.

Lyrics were never Carey's strong point, mind you, so her paean to loss is summed up with not-very-insightful Hallmark platitudes like "I'd give the world to see your face" and "Life goes on". Profound, eh?

Still, at least it's better than when she desperately attempts to prove how bang up to date she is. In Touch My Body, she purrs to her lover: "If there's a camera up in here then I best not catch this flick on youtube (youtube)". Not exactly the sexiest boudoir come-on you've ever heard, is it?

But there are plenty of good tunes to counter the awesomely bad lyrics. Migrate, about a night out with Mariah while she wears jeans ("yeah, they fit", she informs us) is sure to be a candidate for heavy MTV rotation, although I hope to god they excise T-Pain's hopelessly strained vocals. Lovin' You Long Time, meanwhile, is a strutting uptempo number very much in the style of It's Like That."
