Hope it was Live because that would be a good excuse on why it sounded to bad. The song sucks and the live performance sucked. You cant do auto-tune live it just doesnt sound right.
Heard Whitney's million dollar bill it is better than Mariah's obsessed but still eh

Even though Mariah's performance was bad I must say her and Nick make a cute couple. When Mariah squeezed his face then grabbed his butt that was so cute.

YESS! You have good taste ;) I can't believe that it seems like she had so many great songs that she could have released that may have given her a few more 1#'s. It's hard to believe a song as good as Slipping Away didn't even make it on her album & it's hard to believe songs like Never Forget You was never released as its own single, i think that song is one of her best vocals. It's funny how most of her older stuff is 10x better than anything she's had recently and yet we see songs like this go top 10, def shows not only how good music was back in the day, but how shitty it is now!

As far as Obsessed goes, to me, it's not Mariah & its just awkward! A pretty bad vocal and the worst lyrics ever (bathing in windex??????????), makes me think damn her bicth ass should hire me to write! However, i think she looks great in the video (as herself) and she hasn't looked as good since Don't Forget About Us. From reviews, i heard the album will be similar to her Butterfly days, but i dont see that at all with based on Obsessed, so i dont know what she has in store. The only thing that i am really looking forward to is her cover of I Want to Know What Love Is. She always had great covers such as Without You, Against All Odds, I'll be There, I Still Believe, and Open Arms.

As far as Whitney Houston's "comeback", i love how she is trying to stay "true" to her style of music, but i dont think that I Look to You will make an impact. Whitney is kinda at the stage in her career where she is just one of those artists that will sell just because of the name or someone that your mom will buy. I can't see kids these days being into her at all for two reasons, 1) they arent into 80's/90's style ballads and 2) they only know her from being a crackhead and pulling shit outta bobby browns ass. Mariah will probably be at that point in a few albums too.

Strangely enough, I actually kinda enjoyed it. The first half was a little bland but the second half was better.
Let's see if she can carry out the belting on a stage...something tells me NOT. Oh well...

Not a fan of the original, and I like this version OK. I mean if the song sucked in general, it's not really gonna get any better just because she sang it. Love her vocals on it, though. I love how they're imperfect and unedited. Won't find any protools here, unlike her entire last album. I like it. I want a CD quality version!!

Also, the only confirmation we have of this being the 2nd single, is in Europe, where Obsessed flopped. In the U.S., regardless of what delusional haters claim, Obsessed is Top 10 in airplay on Urban, Top 2 Rhythmic, and is also making great gains on Pop, so I doubt they'd fuck it's success up by rushing a new single.

It's alright but I think the original had a lot more to it.
It annoys me how Mariah can't ever sing a song without seeing it as an opportunity to show the world what strange things she can do with her voice.

For fucks sake woman give it some emotion and let the song sing itself.

Why on Earth would she release this as her second single?? The first single hasn't even cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 yet (only peaked at 11 and is STILL sitting outside). She bombed with her last album too, while "Touch My Body" went to number one, the follow up singles "Bye Bye" (peaked at #19), "I Stay In Love" (didn't make the Hot 100), "I'll Be Loving U Long Time" (#fifty eight) and "Migrate" (#92) all flopped. In fact, I haven't even heard "Touch My Body" played on the radio since it was actually out. Not exactly what I would classify a "classic" - you can thank the itunes digital sales for propelling that stinker to number one and keeping Madonna's "4 Minutes" out of the top).

If "Obsessed" is anything to go by, her lazy lyrics and boring 'urban' beats have gotten old fast. The song is completely forgettable and the video is embarrassing. It's time for Mariah to flop again, she shouldn't be rewarded success for this kind of by-the-numbers generic SHIT.

The version by Foreigner is vastly superior.

What I don't understand is why she would release this as her second single?? The only radio stations that would play this would be Adult Contemporary formats (and that is if it becomes a hit on that format). Top 40 stations would NOT play this in between Black Eyed Peas and Jay-Z. I could understand if she pulled a Beyonce and released two singles at a time, one catered to urban radio and one to Top 40 - but this single has only one demographic in mind. With underwhelming performance of the lead single, you'd think she'd pick a single that had more wider appeal as the second release.

At least "Obsessed" is getting airplay at urban AND Top 40 outlets.

Mariah Carey has really big titties. She's referenced them in song before (e.g. the remix for Loverboy). However, I think that she should make a more explicit song about her titties. I'm sure the song would be popular.

Regardless of reports, I doubt this is the second single, especially for the U.S.
Also, she references her titties in the HEARTBREAKER remix, where lesbian Da Brat says "Guess who's back in the muthafuckin house, with two big tig ol bitties for yo mouth."

And finally, the album is NOT being pushed back again.

I'd be shocked if this was the second single in the US. The original was a huge song, whether you liked it or not, and I think it's pretty brave to release a cover to the radio.
