I have always liked early whitney and alot of her songs from the 90's. I Own her first two albums on vinyl.. but before she passed I was one of the ignorant ones who put her down for having a problem, something all humans do. Now I wish I never said the things I said.

When her last album came out I never gave it a listen out of ignorance and made fun of her for being a druggie. Now as she is passed, I watched the video for the single I LOOK TO YOU. For some reason I can't watch the video and hear the song without tears coming down my face. IDK why I'm feeling this way. The look on her face is just heart breaking. Its as is the song is a foreshadowing emotion.

I Look to you is now my fave song by her.
I interpret the song as a cry for help as if not knowing her way anymore or having a reason to live. So lonely she looks to her fans or anyone willing to hear her soul.

Don't be to hard on yourself. Most people won't understand or don't want to understand that having a substance abuse problem is a disease. It's said that only an alcoholic can help another alcoholic. Most people who are not addicted just like to judge the person without wanting to understand that there might be underlying issues to the addiction. That's why a lot of people turn to support groups for help, to find people who have the same problem and will listen. Whatever Whitney's reason for using is something we will never know.

And thank you for sharing that song with us. I never heard it before and to me it sounds like she looking for help from her higher power.

The last time I saw or heard Whitney was in a concert video posted here. At that time, I thought the train had already crashed. As far as I was concerned, Whitney died the day I saw that video. She was on life support after that.

The Lesbian Rumor was just that, a RUMOR...Whitney did an interview in the 90's and stated she was ALSO accused of being lovers with Rue McClanahan (of all people..LOL)...She laughed it off...

I just watched Oprah's interview on OWN...I am amazed The Houston family was able to get through it. The shock of Whitney's death is still with them...It's interesting how Whitney prepared Bobbi Kris for so many things...I didnt know that Bobbi Kris lived with her Uncle & Aunt for 2yrs....That is FAMILY....So she's gonna be alright....Whitney could've left this world a long time ago but it happened when her daughter was 18 and developing into a young woman...They were closer than ever and Bobbi Kris has a strong foundation...

As far Whitney's death.....Man oh man oh man...Talk about a CLOUD lingering....Bobbi Kris was down the hall in the other suite with the photo shoot crew, Pat & Garry was in another suite getting things together...Whitney's driver was somewhere...Whitney's assistant was somewhere...But Whitney was all alone in that room...What in the world happened in that room?

Then Pat told Oprah she didn't know how Whitney got to the tub-naked...Then she was found facing down in the tub of water....

Hopefully the toxicology report will be released by the end of this month...We gotta know what was in her system that could have caused her death or perhaps her death was by natural causes....

We won't be able to stop thinking about Whitney until we know what happened to her...

There's no need to wait for the toxicology report. There is no need to know what was the cause of death in the end.

It was 25+ years of drug abuse (legal & prescribed), alcohol and cigarettes that killed her.

I can't stand Amber Riley. The only good songs she did on Glee were Bust Your Windows in Season 1 and Spotlight this season.

Yeah, I just ignored that; No comparisons to Whitney Houston need to be made here, and let's all realize that the song was originally written by Dolly Parton. But both talents should get the deserved respect for what they've accomplished.

That's pretty impressive. It seems the Glee producers have decided to cut back on the autotuning, which is an excellent move. I may start watching it now.

You're right; I didn't start watching until halfway through the latest season and I didn't even realize they had used autotuning--which I begrudge--until last week when I was browsing through covers from very early episodes. Now it's only used when appropriate: say, in Gaga's Telophone cover, in which Rachel could turn me straight.. Lea Michele is so beautiful; she and Naya make me confused about my sexuality
