Re: New Whitney Album On Sale Today!

Also, a little tidbit from Billboard.com

This is Houston's 46th week atop The Billboard 200--which is more than any other female artist in the chart's 53-year history. (Mariah Carey is in second place with 30 weeks.) Remarkably, Houston logged 45 weeks in the #1 spot before her 30th birthday, thanks to Whitney Houston (14 weeks on top), Whitney (11 weeks) and The Bodyguard (20 weeks).

Whitney on Oprah Sneak Peak

Re: Whitney on Oprah Sneak Peak

The album is good, but it seems unfinished, I keep listening to it and thinking they left all the good stuff out. Why does she try to sing live like that, if she knows that the voice is gone? I have a feeling that she is being pressured by the corporate machine. What a shame.

Re: New Whitney Album On Sale Today!

Wow, I saw the official video for I look to you and I started to tear up. She's making her come back.

TV One Access Presents 'The Return Of Whitney Houston'

LOS ANGELES, Calif --

On the eve of Whitney Houston's long awaited comeback, "TV One Access" takes an eventful journey through the life and times of one of music's best selling artists of all time with "The Return of Whitney Houston."

"The Return of Whitney Houston" is an hour-long special produced by Access Hollywood's urban entertainment news program, "TV One Access." The special premieres Sunday, September 13, 2009 (check local listings) on cable's TV One.

Houston, whose new album entitled "I Look To You" is available now, discusses her triumphs and tragedies as well as her return to the music industry. "TV One Access" chronicles everything from Houston's childhood and her battle with addiction to her tumultuous relationship with former husband, music artist Bobby Brown.

"No other African-American singer has made an impact in both music and film like Whitney Houston, so we had been counting down the moments until the release of her much anticipated new album," says Monique Chenault, Senior Producer, "TV One Access." "As we hoped and expected, Whitney is back on top and this very special show celebrates her resilient talent as well as her inspiring, personal story of triumph over tragedy."

Houston, who had taken a hiatus from the music industry to take time for herself and her daughter, said that when she told her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, that she was going to do another album, Bobbi Kristina was very supportive. Clive Davis, Houston's longtime mentor, also discusses his friendship with Houston and the role he played in her return to music.
The special wouldn't be complete without a look at all of the success and influence Houston has had within the music industry as well as her lucrative acting career.
