For as much as I wish her well and everything...she's not back! Some audio to some latest performances leaked and...well...she sucked big time! If her and Mariah would team up these days it would be a hoarse, off key galore! LOL

I think the one you're referring to is "All At Once". In the chorus she sings "all at once...I'm drifting all alone".

Whitney's live performances haven't been good in the last 8 years, but thats because of the drugs. Before then, no one could top Whitney's live performances not even boring Mariah; go on youtube and check her performances before the drugs ruined the voice.

"crack is whack"....remember when she was supposed to to do a couple or one off show for the Crown casino in Melbourne Australia some time ago...the night before her performance there she was sitting at the private bar smoking fuckin cigars with the Bobmeister till the wee hours of the morning....

and guess what she fuckin cancelled the performance the next night...mind you she earnt a nice little sum of a couple of million dollars...

i reckon her only talent until proven otherwise these days is her novelty factor....

Not a chance in hell you could consider her "back." Those performances were just terrible by her standards, BUT better than the Olympic performances which were some of the worst live performances by any artist in the history of mankind. Caveman put on better vocal performances than that shit, SERIOUSLY. She's got a ways to go, her voice isn't going to come back over night, but honestly it will just never be the same. We can only hope for improvement.

LOL!!! I think you better check Mariah's performance during her latest tour on Anaheim. Just type on youtube "Mariah Carey Make It Happen Anaheim" or just "Mariah Carey Anaheim" and click on the Make It Happen performance...then you'll see the worst vocals I've heard from any artist in a long LOOOOOONG time!!! Trust me, only by watching with your own eyes and hearing with your own ears you'll believe it. Its THAT bad!!! LOLOOOL

I was watching some older performances from Whitney and the music just flowed out of her effortlessly. No artist has impressed me as much as her with some of her stuff, and I watch this recent stuff and can only shake my head. It's just one of the greatest tragedies in music history. Whitney's voice dying is like when Elvis died, or John Lennon. Her vocal ability and tone was just not matched if you ask me. She's barely a fragment of what she used to be. A glimmer, a twinkle in an eye. Okay I'll stop, I'm getting dramatic now ;)

And I should mention that 14 minute fuckin water break she takes in the middle of I Will Always Love You is beyond ridiculous and pretentious. That's not the first time I've seen her pull that shit and it makes me want to slap a bitch. Okay if you can come back with a note from the rafters of heaven and blow the stadium away, then by all means make it worth our while, but when you come back croaking like a fuckin dying frog you sure as HELL don't have room to pull that bullshit. Get over yourself Whit! Come back when you can sing!

Does anyone know if medically speaking vocal cords can recover? I remember reading something about Artha back in the day and it was very similar to some of the comments here but in Aretha's case it was due to her heavy smoking in the 80s and 90s. I remmeber reading that after she stopped smoking her voice "came back" but to be honest she still sounds the same to me.

I love Whitney, but it's just sad to hear her sing nowadays. She didn't just almost have it all, she actually HAD it all, lol.

Aretha ruined her tone. She had a great tone but she ruined it. I hate her voice now but back in the day, in the beginning of her career she had an incredible tone and vocal power. Her voice just couldnt stand the test of time. There's a video on youtube showing the dramatic changes in her voice since the beginning of her career up till now...her voice and tone began getting worse and changing not many years after she started her career.
About smoking...there's nothing worse than that to your voice!
Anyways, vocal chords CAN recover but they take a lot of time if the damage is big and sometimes if the damage is just too big it doesnt recover. It just depends from case to case...
