I have nothing against the woman, but am I the only one who's tired of every Whitney performance being hailed as "the comeback performance?" Everytime she opens her mouth people go into a frenzy... "She's back! She's really back! This is it!"
Um... no. She will never return to her former glory. Not completely anyway. I'm glad she managed to turn her life around and get off the drugs, but that's what brings the tears these days. People are crying because she fought through the hard times and managed to make it out alive -- not because her voice is "back."

she was good but i liked the Oprah performance better, it was more emotional then this one. But she looked great and her voice is getting there more and more..

Whitney seems to have a habit of rushing thru each verse, almost like she's spoofing herself. RiRi does not have any stage presence, i've always found her award show performances painfully boring, she's a perfect example of Style over Talent/Substance.

LOL! I so agree. And that's what sets them two apart bigtime. Whitney is a true dynamic LIVE performer with incredible stage presence/stage command. She knows how to work the hell out of a stage with ease and have the audience eating out of the palm of her hand and kissing her ass throughout the entire performance. Her stance. Her dramatic pauses. Her convincing facial expressions. Her connection with the audience. She totally MILKS it. That other chick just doesn't cut it or come anywhere close to her level when it comes to performing live and commanding a stage...

....but can't get enough of this performance/acceptance speech. Whitney KILLED it!! Best performance of the night hands down. Stage presence was off the chain. All while just standing in front of a mic. No whole bunch of fireworks, dancers, or booty shakin and all that going on. STILL commanding the stage/audience like nobody else last night. Incredible. Audience was kissing her ass the whole time. Love it.
