After Ms. Houston failed to garner a single grammy nomination you seemed to have a moment of clarity but this is just wrong. It's rather obvious now why you posted this chart without a link, specially when you reveal your sources most of the time. But even you knew how deceptive this chart is. It's nothing more than proof for those who consider you delusional.

This is an Italian BLOG. Nothing official or credible. Even they claim:

Are Estimations, so nothing "official".
Consider the data as "Points", not pure sales data.

!REMEMBER!:
- Are only ESTIMATIONS not "real" data, is impossible to have the real sales data, so there might be some mistakes.The data want to give a "general" view of the worldwide sales.
- Is better consider them as POINTS not real sales data - Double albums are counted as single albums : a double album with a sales data of 1.000.000 simply means that the whole album sold 1.000.000 copies (1.000.000 of cd 1 and 1.000.000 of cd 2).
- None of the data are "definitive", all data could be modified.


This chart/posting is nothing more than the rants of someone that can't accept several facts:

Ms. Houston failed to gain any grammy nominations.
Ms. Houston does NOT hold the #1 position for first week sales by a female artist in 2009 in fact she may drop again.
Ms. Houston does NOT hold the #1 position for sales by a female artist for product released in 2009.
Ms. Houston does NOT hold the #1 position for sales by a female artist for sales in 2009, in fact not even top 5.

The only reason you chose to narrow it down to Female Artist is because once you add Male Artist and Groups Ms. Houston's position will drop considerably.

BTW #22 on your list, La Roux, is a DUO fronted by a female.

They're both during Mardi Gras so each show is just going to be gay men so both will prove to be fun. I still haven't made up my mind.

Why would anyone want to spend lots of money on what are basically considered "oldies" acts.

You can probably see 4 or 5 excellent artists for the price of 1 ticket to either one of them.

If I was held at gunpoint and had to choose one: Michaels.

People like Whitney aren't a dime a dozen. She is a legend and in her prime was considered one of the greatest if not the greatest voice in the world. She'll always have stature in the music industry. Her voice isn't what it once was, but if one is a fan of hers, a concert is sure to be exciting. I don't listen to George Michael, so I can't speak on him. Your logic is flawed. What you're saying is like saying you can buy four excellent mercedes benz for the price of a bentley.

^ Um, sweety. Give it a rest already. Whitney Houston's new album is among the top 3 biggest selling albums worldwide by a female this year, no matter how obsessed you are at picking it apart and and figuring it out. She has one of the biggest selling albums of the year. DEAL.WITH.IT. And that exact same list has been making the rounds ALLLLLLLL over the internet, being posted on tons and tons of forums and blogs. I happened to get the list from another music site I visit. You try soooo hard boo but you SUCK at your execution of things. No offense, but you just continue to FAIL.

.....and jus for the record -- Whitney's new album has already sold 2x Platinum worldwide. Over 1 million sold in the U.S. and another 1 million from all the other countries. And this info comes from Whitney's record label themselves. Ya know, the people who actually HAVE all of the facts -- unlike you.

So you can choose to not believe the list all you want. It will just make Whitney's sales look all the more better since it's already confirmed that she has sold MORE than what the list says she did. Either way you lose. As always.

Even with what is being called one of the biggest snubs in Grammy history, there is light for Whitney Houston at the end of the tunnel.

Houston's anticipated effort "I Look To You" has been certified RIAA Platinum in the United States for sales in excess of 1 million copies.

Featuring work with Akon, R. Kelly, Diane Warren, Claude Kelly and more, Houston's "I Look To You" arrived in stores August 31. It has since delivered two singles, including the R.Kelly penned "I Look To You".

In related news, Whitney Houston is due to embark on her first European Tour in some time next year. Set to kick off Spring of 2010, the tour will make rounds through London, Manchester, and Birmingham.

"Do you hear what I hear" is a Holiday song that gets played around the clock in my area..I blast the radio every time I hear it...Whitney's rendition is SOLID and the best version I've ever heard....."Little Drummer Boy" doesnt get much play...

Loooooove Whitney's version of "Do You Hear What I Hear." A classic. And "Little Drummer Boy" is a HOT track!! Was instantly one of my favorites my first listen to the cd. Also love the way they did "Deck The Halls/Slient Night". Hottt!!!!!

What's your favorite song from "One Wish" then?

Sadly George Michael is playing a large stadium and his prices are ridiculously high.

AU $800 for the best sections.


I'd go George Michael... but I'm gonna wait myself and get something cheaper before the gig as i think he will have trouble selling out the venue.

i love "Do you hear what i hear" too! Play it every year around the holidays. And she has some GREAT songs on her christmas cd. "Deck The Halls", "Silent Night", "I'll Be home For Christmas", "O Holy Night", "O Come O Come Emanuel", and the two from the Preachers Wife soundtrack!!
