i agree with u guys that whitney sounds way better than she did on Oprah. and almost everyone else on all the other sites thinks she does too.

Perez also posted the dancing clips on his site, and they both already have like 20,000 views. Great for people to see a candid whitney having fun with her backup dancers! And that guy screaming in the video is WAY too excited. Hahaha!!

Whitney Houston Invades Japan

Posted by Media Outrage on February 11, 2010

Whitney Houston put her thing down Japan earlier today. It’s amazing she still has a beautiful voice after all of the stuff she’s been through. Seriously, she’s still shutting down most artists of today without effort. More Whitney when you

Move over Tina Turner - Whitney Houston's out to steal your crown for best legs in showbiz.

And considering the 46-year-old was wearing kneehigh socks with her sparkly mini dress, that's pretty good going.

She showed off her new hot bod on the first night of her tour in Tokyo. Perhaps it's because of all that larking around with her tasty young dancers at her hotel.

Re: New Whitney Album/Song/Performance/Nominations [Mega-Merged Thread]

I like the beginning of I Will always love you. Some of those head notes were just lovely. That little impromptu performance she did just before she sang I didn't know my own strength was great! She was doing that. Sounded good and soulful. That performance of If i Told you that was great!! Probably the best performance of the song so far this era.

Re: New Whitney Album/Song/Performance/Nominations [Mega-Merged Thread]

Here's some clips from the Japan concert DAY TWO, which was today. The audio quality isnt the best, but hey.

This was the best rendition of I Look to You that she has EVER done. Check out those head notes.

And i like this performance of I Wanna dance w/ Somebody. The images of the two dancers on the big screen during the performance is neat.

Yes, that performance of ILTY was wonderful. Video seems to have been removed but glad I saw it the other day. Those HEAD NOTES were indeed splendid and impressive! And she was hitting them with ease.

Sexykev, you love Whitney Houston like I love Aretha Franklin!..lol.....I think I need to start an official Aretha thread...

lol.....YES. :p

....but I'm quite sure this guy in this video has me beat, with the way he's screaming for Whitney like a maniac when she made her entrance to the stage. Sounds like he is on fire or something. "Ahhhhhh!! Ahhhhhhhh! Ahhhhh!!" :rotflmao: :help:

I'm like the #1 stan and even I wouldn't scream for Whitney like this....

**News Flash** - Tuesday 16 February 2010 - NEW INTIMATE MELBOURNE DATE ADDED

Due to overwhelming demand, Andrew McManus Presents is proud to announce a 2nd concert by WHITNEY HOUSTON to be performed in Melbourne’s brand new Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

"Rod Laver Arena sold out months ago and whilst we were comfortable with a sell out crowd, the public request for more tickets has been overwhelming" – Andrew McManus said today.

“On enquiry, Rod Laver Arena is already booked, so it was decided that we would give the people of Melbourne what they wanted and announce a second concert in an ‘Up Close and Personal Concert’ environment at The Plenary on the 6th March.

Can you imagine sitting so close to such a magnificent star?" – McManus quizzed.

Tickets for this very special concert event will go on sale to the public, 9am Monday 22nd February from all Ticketmaster outlets in Whitney Houston's last concert performance of this Australian tour” .

Re: New Whitney Album/Song/Performance/Nominations [Mega-Merged Thread]

^ the truth hurts. I dont know what happended to whitney in 2004 she still had her voice the 2004 wma performace was amazing but not like the 90's but at least she was a dramatic soprano, now she is straight up tenor. When she stopped doing drugs I figured her voice would get better but it didnt. In reality I believe it has gotten worse for what reasons IDK. After 2004 her voice went out and i dont know why when during that time she was in rehab. Since then she hasn't gotten back which leads me to believe she needs to go to a doctor and check her nodules or something. It just doesn't make sense that after being sober her voice has gotten worse. Her recent IWALY performance was bad because she couldn't even hit the youuuuuuuuu part, but back in 2007 and 2008 she could.
I think Whitney was so far in her addiction that I believe she performs better high then sober and thats why she can't sing anymore. There are a lot of people who are so addicted that they can only do extraordinary things when they are high.

you sir speakth the truth.

Re: Whitney Houston or George Michael

I think George Michael might put on a better show.

Re: New Whitney Album/Song/Performance/Nominations [Mega-Merged Thread]

I think something's wrong with her voice or went wrong, who could tell...but nobody's voice in the history of music has changed as much as Whitney's did. And this tour ain't helping it..

I totally agree.

Whitney Houston:

The daughter of R&B and gospel singer Cissy Houston, Whitney grew up around family friends Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight; Dionne Warwick was a cousin. "When I started singing," she once said, "it was almost like speaking." By the time she was 22, Whitney had emerged as the greatest female voice of her generation: Her 1985 debut alone included the monster hits "Saving All My Love for You," "How Will I Know" and "The Greatest Love of All." Her voice is a mammoth, coruscating cry: Few vocalists could get away with opening a song with 45 unaccompanied seconds of singing, but Houston's powerhouse version of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" is a tour de force.

Key Tracks:

"The Greatest Love of All," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "Saving All My Love for You," "I Will Always Love You"

Influenced:

Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige
