I guess her years of drug abuse and hard living have finally taken their toll. In her heyday she had an amazing voice with an incredible range, and I was a big fan. RIP Whitney Houston.

Had a tear in my eye as I watched this ....

Sad truth..some of the most talented people throughout history were also some of the most troubled.
Sadder still..some of the people that talked garbage about her the most will be the first in line to talk about how sad they are.
Me..I was angry and saddened to see how someone with so much talent could throw it all away.

I'm just heartbroken. The Bodyguard was one of the first albums I bought with my own money. (The others were Nevermind & The Black Album. . .) I remember doing dance routines to her pop songs when I was a little one. I have literally had her music in the background of most of my young memories. She was just everywhere - she was it.

I'll be keeping her daughter in my (vaguely nonsectarian, slightly agnostic) prayers, of course. That young lady has a hard road ahead of her. . .

So very sad.

Shocking and yet seemingly inevitable, all at once.

CNN just played The Greatest Love Of All. Really put a lump in my throat. So many good memories of her from my teen years and my twenties.

What a waste of a talent. It's sad how her life was ruined with drugs. I guess she was so unhappy, and it took her to a place where nobody could reach her.
