So sad, and my immediate thought was the same as many others in here - if not an OD, she simply wore her body out past the point of no return.

Its a dam shame that fame chews up our stars the way it does. She was a fantastic talent.

And the media always following her around waiting for another lapse, also a shame. This woman couldn't seem to catch a break because of her fame.

My thoughts are certainly with her family and fans. A great, great singer and I'll always remember that performance of the National Anthem when I was a wee lad. Wow.

Wow... I was not expecting to read this on the first page that started up on MSN news. So sad because I was hoping that she would come around from the wreckage that was her life shortly after hooking up with Bobbi Brown. Truly sad because she should have had another shot at reclaiming her past glory.

I don't condone Dr. Drew's vulture behavior, but he said something that was surprisingly sensible. When a singer gets nodes or someone gets injured physically, they take the time off and do physical therapy before they start performing again.

When celebrities have drug addictions, they pop into rehab & get detoxed, and then go back out to work again without taking the time to do the 12 steps when they should be taking the time off to recover like someone with a physical ailment.

And, of course, the press is there lurking.

48 is far too young for a person to die. I'm sure she would be fine today if she hadn't gotten herself mixed up with the drugs. I'm not insulting her, but it's a shame how many lives they destroy.
