Like many out there listening to Whitney on repeat all day. One of the greatest vocal talents of all time. R.I.P.

My heart aches. I praying for her daughter bobbi kristina. Sexykev I will keep you in my prayers because I know how much Whitney meant to you. I felt a little piece of me die with her.

All of this for me too (just wanted to add Taurean79 as well).

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

Not saying you're a tool but you are.

I never actually denied that I was a tool.

And that ad just is more relevant now then when it was released. The disease of addiction can get any of us. Even the best young, beautiful, talented person out there. but sadly some of us can never get past whatever reasons we use. She served her time in whatever hell she was living in.

let her rest in peace now.

The way I see it, she rubbed that anti-drug message smugly in our faces, no doubt in exchange for more money than most of us make in a year. There's a word for that.

It's called h-y-p-o-c-r-i-s-y, children.

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

The Grammys have thus far paid a great deal of respect to Whitney. Too bad most of the preformances have been so subpar. Coldplay just came on stage... might be better...

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

She drowned in her bathtub. Thats just so tragic and sad.

Doubled edged sword for me. She will always be one of the most beautiful and talented singers that ever lived, past, present or future.
But as I said before, she is also one of the celebrities that angered me the most as well.
Having seen it happen to people I know,I shouldn't be shocked but it stuns me how someone with the voice and talent that she had threw it all away for drugs and a thug like Bobby Brown.
Her death is tragic...but so was the immense waste of her talent.

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

Having seen most of the performers tonight..one thing is clear..they couldn't hold a candle to Whitney.

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

From TMZ......

Whitney Houston's family was told by L.A. County Coroner officials ... the singer did not die from drowning, but rather from what appears to be a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol ... this according to family sources.

We're told Coroner's officials informed the family there was not enough water in Whitney's lungs to lead to the conclusion that she drowned.

Our sources say the family was told Whitney may well have died before her head became submerged.

And family sources tell us ... it was actually Whitney's aunt, Mary Jones, who discovered Whitney's body in the bathtub. Mary had laid out Whitney's dress for the evening on the bed and the left for about a half hour. When Whitney didn't come out of the bathroom, Mary entered, pulled Whitney out of the tub and began administering CPR.

And we're told ... Whitney's mom has arranged to have the singer's body flown back to Atlanta, as early as tomorrow. The family was told the Coroner has no problem releasing the body because there is no evidence of foul play -- and unless cops put a hold on the body, it can be flown back East.

Her voice will linger on in my soul forever. Love you Whitney!

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

Sad news..I liked her music, but she wasn't the president or anything..I'm getting sick of hearing about it everytime I turn on the news.Starting to remind of the Michael Jackson ordeal..

She was a junkie.Junkies die everyday.Hope she'll now have the peace that eluded her during her life.

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

What will become of her new film? Did they finish filming?

It's weird how she died just months before "Sparkle's" premiere. I still remember Aaliyah(who was due to play a lead singer in it) talking about the EXACT same movie...

As the son of someone who had and died from a drug problem I find that to be extremely callous. And despite my father's drug problems he had worth and is worth remembering. The same with Whitney Houston. This whole weekend people have made similar statements (some way worse) as if her life was worth nothing simply because she had a drug problem. It's sad that people can be so...crappy.

No, she wasn’t the president, but she had accomplishments that most people on this earth will never achieve. That’s worth something. Don’t you think?

It may be callous, but it's true. I know lots of people who suffered ( in many cases, caused lots of suffering for their families) and died as a result of their drug addictions. It doesn't make my statement any less true.

I'm sure he is,you only have one father. But you shoud remember his life as it was and not as you wish it was..

I have no problem with Whitney Houston.I suppose my problem is more with the media.Yes,it's unfortunate that it looks like addiction claimed another life. But it happens everyday. What bothers me about is the almost non stop coverage about the event.I just can't understand why this has to be on the news for days on end.The same thing when the other junkie,Michael Jackson died. This should be a Hollywood trade story, not an event for national mourning..

As for her accomplishments, sure she accomplished a lot.But her addictions caused most of it go right down the drain..That's another sad component of this story..

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

You know, all I can say is that by most accounts of those who worked with her and knew her, Whitney Houston was a kind and gracious person. She had her demons, like all of us. And to reduce her to "junkie", as if that was all she was, is harsh and unkind. As I said, we all have our demons, I can only hope that when it's my time to go, my past mistakes aren't going to be used to make me lesser than what I was.

Re: Sad news..Whitney Houston has passed away

i want to say what happened to whitney was sad but expected. people like her, who have immense talent that can be commercialized, are always on the edge of this society, even if we dont know it. the most pristine, white washed star has skeletons in their closet (britney and lindsay). for years i read all the negatives about her personal life and i honestly felt that one day she was going to die in some tragic situation just like this.
i mean i was sad for her, but i was more angry that she could allow all the fame and fortune to go to her head and even though she was human, she was one of the most famous people on this planet. she was raised in the church, had a beautiful daughter and a incredible support system from family, friends, fans and other celebrities as well. but that still didn't save her life. smh.
i dont know what else to say except if you can't live for yourself, then live for the people that love you. if you can't live for the people that love you, live for the people that hate you, if only to prove the people that hate you wrong about the negative things they said about you. i am just so angry about this. rip whitney.

i totally agree with you. but people will move on just as in the case of mj, or heath or anna nicole. soon they become distant memories, with a little twinge of pain or sorrow felt when we think of them. the one thing with whitney is that she shouldn't have let those demons get so close to her. she probably surrounded herself with ''yes'' people. people that would supply her with drugs and whatever else she needed. people spend their lives wanting that one big moment to be discovered and make millions of dollars, and have people to adore them. she gets the chance and wastes it on drugs, alcohol and a bad marriage, what a waste, i have very little sorrow for her. i feel more sorry for her daughter and mother who had to put up with all her crap throughout the years. and i also feel that her ex bobby brown will be next. i can't tell you how much i hate that ugly man.
