Re: Cocaine Kills Whitney Houston

If she had never used coke, a lot of events going on her body would have never taken place - the heart episode, the need for pain killers, etc.

I'm not taking away from the fact that she had cocaine in her system(sadly it's not a big shocker), I just don't like the sensationalist title of the thread(nor am I shocked by who came running to make said thread) is all.

You think EVERYONE stirs the pot over little things you don't like.

Re: I Will Always Love You, as good as Whitney

Very, very good performance. However, to this day, I haven't found a single person that can sing this song like Whitney. She absolutely transformed the original into something with depth and vocal pizazz. But this remake here by the Glee star?

It was very good too.

The Billboard tribute to Whitney was better than the one the Grammys did!

Like, wayyyyyy better ..|

Enjoy!

Re: The Billboard tribute to Whitney was better than the one the Grammys did!

Well, to be fair, they had more than 24 hours to prepare. :)

The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

The MAIN reason I'm watching The BET Awards this year is to see The Whitney Tribute and they better not ask singers that STRUGGLE with the notes...LOL...I'm Glad Whitney's mom Cissy Houston will perform. I bet you a Million-bucks she's gonna sing something from Whitney's Church-days...

I DO NOT want to see Jennifer Hudson sing ANYTHING. All I wanna see from Jennifer is one of her Weight Watchers Commercials during the breaks..That's it... As a matter of fact I wish they'd put a Security guard at the door to keep her and her WWE-wrestling husband AWAY...LOL...I really Love but WHY does EVERY freaking Producer ASSUME she's the one to sing at all the Damn Tributes?

I'm tired of seeing her face...They need to ask Fantasia, Beyonce, Toni Braxton, American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez, CeCe Winans, Yolonda Adams and maybe even Christina Aguilera...Give us some NEW Blood this year instead of the usual suspects...

You can bet the House on it that they're gonna ask R. Kelly to sing "I Look to you" since he wrote it for her...

Did anybody produce a CD in 2011-12 that is worthy of Awards other than Jigga & Kanye? The ONLY song I like from Beyonce is "Love on Top" but is that one song strong enough to have her sweep the whole night?

Chris Brown won BIG last year..he's nominated yet again..Do we have to sit through The Chris Brown show again this year?

BET Better not do The EL Debarge side-show thing again like they did in 2010..We LOVE EL Debarge and the entire Debarge family. We were glad he was drug-free the entire 6-months following the show but nobody wanted to see him sing in 3 different segments...BET better not feature another Old-school artist in the same fashion...

This show is gonna be 3hrs and 30-mins PLUS an after-show wrap-up...Thank goodness for DVR's..They BETTER put on a show and Samuel L. Jackson is my boy but I would NOT have picked him to host...Ain't nothing funny about Sam. Was Chris Rock too busy or was he asking too much?

Christina Aguilera sounds amazing singing Whitney, shes a good shout!

Re: The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

^^You're right...I think it was 2002 when The BET Awards Honored Whitney with the Lifetime Achievement Awards and Christina sang "Run to you"....She did a Magnificent job...

Luther Vandross sang for Whitney that night as well..So sad that they're both gone @ such young ages....

 You're worried about singers struggling when she was struggling most of this century...

Re: The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

The black community hated y when she first got on the scene so celebrating her death is ironic. It was said her music wasn't "black" enough and the same goes for Michael Jackson.

Re: The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

You sound like a broken record!

Sound like? No that THING is a Broken-record...he trashed Whitney when she was alive and still doing it now that she's dead....The Moderators have allowed that thing to TROLL forums for years...

Re: The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

Christina Aguilera please

Im gonna cry if it's true

Re: The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

Mariah Carey should do a Whitney song most def and not when you believe.

Re: The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

The show was decent this year...Waaay to long but what Award show isnt?

It was good to see Sexy Chante Moore covering a Donna Summer classic...Chante is underrated and one of a handful of Vocalists that can sustain the whistle-notes...

I like the way they produced the Memorial segments through-out the night..I've never seen it done that way..Whitney's Tribute was truly the highlight...I'm amazed that Cissy could get up there and do that...Mariah & Monica looked amazing...

Could not believe Lifetime Achievement honorees Frankie Beverly & Maze NEVER performed on LIVE tv before...I guess they're just one of those Legendary Acts that don't get TV gigs..Their fan-base keeps them on the road with sell-out shows...

It was good to see D'Angelo still doing his thing...

You sound like a broken record!

Look who's back but another of the Whitney Houston apologists. Why is it you people only show up to post on her?

I must say your avatar is very fitting.

Before if you didn't agree with someone they were called a hater. Now they're called a troll??? As a fan I spoke the truth about her when she was alive and I will continue to speak the truth now that gone. Some of you need to let her rest in peace.

Re: The 2012 BET Awards: Whitney Houston Tribute is Top Secret.

"The MAIN reason I'm watching The BET Awards this year is to see The Whitney Tribute and they better not ask singers that STRUGGLE with the notes...LOL...I'm Glad Whitney's mom Cissy Houston will perform. I bet you a Million-bucks she's gonna sing something from Whitney's Church-days..."

How can you call it a "Top Secret" tribute when you already know beforehand who they've signed as the showstopper?

"I DO NOT want to see Jennifer Hudson sing ANYTHING. All I wanna see from Jennifer is one of her Weight Watchers Commercials during the breaks..That's it... As a matter of fact I wish they'd put a Security guard at the door to keep her and her WWE-wrestling husband AWAY...LOL...I really Love but WHY does EVERY freaking Producer ASSUME she's the one to sing at all the Damn Tributes?"

Nice. "Weight Watchers".

"I'm tired of seeing her face...They need to ask Fantasia, Beyonce, Toni Braxton, American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez, CeCe Winans, Yolonda Adams and maybe even Christina Aguilera...Give us some NEW Blood this year instead of the usual suspects..."

I am laughing at that list of so-called new blood!

"You can bet the House on it that they're gonna ask R. Kelly to sing "I Look to you" since he wrote it for her..."

So what's it like having no house?

"Did anybody produce a CD in 2011-12 that is worthy of Awards other than Jigga & Kanye? The ONLY song I like from Beyonce is "Love on Top" but is that one song strong enough to have her sweep the whole night?"

Yes. Chris Brown. Watch him win big.

Chris Brown won BIG last year..he's nominated yet again..Do we have to sit through The Chris Brown show again this year?

"BET Better not do The EL Debarge side-show thing again like they did in 2010..We LOVE EL Debarge and the entire Debarge family. They did. They called it D'Angelo. He's already being savaged for his tired performance at this weekend's Essence show in NOLA. How long until he's back at the crack house?

"This show is gonna be 3hrs and 30-mins PLUS an after-show wrap-up...Thank goodness for DVR's..They BETTER put on a show and Samuel L. Jackson is my boy but I would NOT have picked him to host...Ain't nothing funny about Sam. Was Chris Rock too busy or was he asking too much?"

Dave Chappelle sure thinks Samuel is funny. Did you see his rap with Spike Lee?

"The show was decent this year...Waaay to long but what Award show isnt?"

This is the network's signature event. It has been praised as the best ever, everywhere. I didn't want to see it end. Why would you want less of it? They would have cut the Donna Summer tribute for sure, the post-commercial musical tributes to those who had passed on, Donnie Simpson (!), and why? To make it shorter?

"It was good to see Sexy Chante Moore covering a Donna Summer classic...Chante is underrated and one of a handful of Vocalists that can sustain the whistle-notes..."

She did two.

"I like the way they produced the Memorial segments through-out the night..I've never seen it done that way..Whitney's Tribute was truly the highlight...I'm amazed that Cissy could get up there and do that...Mariah & Monica looked amazing..."

Yes, it was a great show throughout.

"Could not believe Lifetime Achievement honorees Frankie Beverly & Maze NEVER performed on LIVE tv before...I guess they're just one of those Legendary Acts that don't get TV gigs..Their fan-base keeps them on the road with sell-out shows..."

A shorter show would have shredded that, too.

"It was good to see D'Angelo still doing his thing..."

Which was what everyone said about El DeBarge last year. Here's hoping...
