With just 24 hours till The Oscar i thought i'd start the usual Oscar thread a day early as The Razzie Awards have been given out.

Please all feel free to come along and post tomorrow when The Oscar ceremony begins.

The Oscars have sucked ever since they blamed PwC for the La-La-Land fiasco.

I haven't watched the Oscars since they were only 3 hours long.

They had planned on cutting some of the awards out, costume and hair and the unglamourous ones, maybe doing them in the ad breaks but the luvies complained.

PwC ?......

PricewaterhouseCoopers - The guys in charge of the envelopes. They mistakenly announced that 'La La Land' was the winner when it was actually 'Moonlight'. They had given the award presenters the wrong envelope. (I had to Google it.)

Cheers Neil, thought i'd still put a little blame on Warren Beatty he knew there was something amiss and still let Faye Dunaway read it aloud.

Why is this show held on Sunday?

No idea Pat, maybe it's a slow night stateside on the tv, will you be watching ?

^ I may.

But I know I'll be aggravated by all the stupidity.

The last ounce of pleasure I got was this—

I once loved award shows. Then it dawned on me I got nothing either way so I don't really care if I watch them or not. The only one I try to catch is the Tony's. I am a huge theatre nerd and it gives me an idea of what may be part of my upcoming season.

Even if her were not handsome, I think Hugh Jackman deserves Kudos for his job hosting. He always gives 110% on stage. He doesn't disappoint and it feels like a show instead of a desperate standup comedy routine.

And I'm sure I'm biased after living in Albuquerque, but Neil Patrick Harris was made for that kind of shtick. They were great together.

I was flipping channels just now and came across some awful western, but the bright spot in it was that it featured Bruce Dern as a villain. That reminded me of all the fine supporting actors who've never quite won the Oscar, yet are beloved fixtures in the cinema.

This is a mini-homage to Dern. He's been one of the best of the worst characters over the decades. He seemed to so enjoy playing the scum.

I had quite forgotten that he started out as a very handsome young man.

My first awareness of him was when I saw him in Silent Running, when he once again played a deranged freak. Good times.

^^And, for many of us old timers. . .Bruce Dern will also always be known as the bad guy who shot John Wayne in The Cowboys

^ But will you be watching?

We record all the award shows and watch the night after. We can spin through the awards and speeches and commercial breaks that we have no interest in and condense the viewing time by 40% to 60%, depending on the show.
