The photos no one showed to Obama

This has been very informative. I know a lot more now than I did when I started this thread.

I came across these pictures and this subject matter online and I just wanted to become more educated on this topic.

I didn't mean to offend anyone; I just wanted more knowledge of the situation between Israel and Palestine and what has been happening between them lately.

I value the opinions of many Jubbers in this forum and I appreciate the time they took to answer my questions or correct any assumptions I have had on this topic.

On the other hand, the peace process has also been hampered by groups like Hamas standing by their idea that Israel should be destroyed and does not have a right to exist.

. . . .

If we want to see peace in the Middle East, we must put as much pressure on Israel as we do on radical groups like Hamas. Also, if we pursue prosecution against Palestinian groups for attacks on Israel; we must also examine whether the treatment given to those in the West Bank and Gaza mean that prosecution must also fall on those responsible in Israel.

You say Israel has a right to exist, yet you set it on a level with Hamas, which has an avowed policy of genocide?

The pressure on Hamas must be to cease to be -- or at least to cease to be Hamas, grow up, shed the eagerly-embraced vestiges of barbarism, and join civilization. The pressure on Israel must be to try a little harder at being civilized in their responses -- which they already do a lot better than anyone else in the world.

that Jordanian connection is a blind spot for most people on this topic.

They seem to consistently refuse to acnowledge that the Israelis were fighting with the Jordanians to get the land, and that while the Jordanians have accepted Israels right to exist, the west bank has not.

BTW.... England held the land before Jordan around WW1

Yeah, but it's different when Israel commits mindless violence. They are asserting their right to exist. Also, being the only democracy in the middle east, that makes their genocide ok..Besides,according to prophesy, the Jews must have Israel back before Jeebus can come back to lift the Christians into heaven..So, it takes what it takes..

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

Cute, but so full of falsehoods that it fails at being relevant.

^ How so?

Came from the heavens... cosmic
Jesus was Jewish
He rose from the dead ....... zombie
The holy trinity.... his own father
Everlasting life.....
...

I could go on

Zombie -- not
own father -- not
symbolically -- not
evil force -- not
magical tree -- not

mostly those are distortions by the ignorant or malicious.

The telepathy thing is cute, though. :D

Ok it isnt magical... please show me a tree of knowledge?

And humans arent inherently flawed with evil thereby needing it removed or forgiven so you might enter heaven?

Malicious?

Poking fun because of a deeply based disagreement with basing ones life on falsehoods maybe but malicious? Not so much

Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. It's sort of recursive: because it was forbidden, it was thus a tree of knowledge of good and evil -- don't eat it, and remain in innocent ignorance; eat it, and realize what evil (disobedience) is. There was no magical aspect or sudden bestowal of information; the knowledge arises from violation of the injunction. It could have been a fig tree, or pomegranate, or anything at all.

Evil is not something that gets "removed", it is not a substance, but a lack. A ladder being 11'9" when it is supposed to be 12' is "evil", but it doesn't need anything taken away, it needs the missing 3" added back.

I also disagree with basing one's life on falsehoods -- it's why I'm a Christian.
