Or, at least, it certainly does not have to. Personally:
  1. I frequently find some straight guys attractive, just as I am certain all of do (or have) at various points in time!
  2. Moreover, I am quite the occasional consumer of the "straight guys" category/genre of porn -- where they really commit to the pretense of "Oh, these guys are totally straight, ya know?"

Thing is, though...I also find lots of gay men attractive -- no less than any straight guy -- and the majority of my own porn content is all about gay men who love having hot naked times with other men. There's no idea in my mind that heterosexuality itself confers some heightened level of attractiveness upon a guy. No sexual experience really compares to the ones you have with someone who clearly wants to be there.

On the other hand, when a porn director/producer is going to adopt the pretense of the guys being "straight" -- I really want them to commit to it and for the acting and directing to make it at least somewhat believeable. In fact, I often like it when the homoeroticism and any sexual activity have some subtlety. Things like...
  • Some guys working out together and then showering side by side afterward.
  • Roommates casually walking around naked in front one another
  • Guy friends camping in the woods, and some or all of them go skinny dipping.
  • Nudity as a result of a dare or losing a game of strip poker.
  • Drunk dude a party loses so many inhibitions in his revelry that he disrobes and walks around the party naked because, fuck it, why not?
  • Two or more guys are in the same room or space together -- and just happen to all be horny and the same time and casually start jerking off in front of each other -- again, because "fuck it, why not?"
For me personally,. these things are arousing and titillating because they involves brushing against and poking at boundaries in subtle ways and play fast and loose with that line between the non-sexual connection and interactivity typical of truly heterosexual men and that which would be regard as homo-erotic, at the very least. Boundaries and lines get pushed, teased, and grazed -- but not quite fully crossed! The suggestion and uncertainty have an appeal for me... :-)
