Actually, you do not fool them: they fool themselves, and you just profit from it by repeating to them what you hear them say to themselves.
It is not about misinformation, lies and gullibility, but peace of mind in the cozy comfort of their own particular bubble universe.
To be totally honest, the fooling and the gullibility have come from supposedly "true, honest" democracy, during all those decades in which all those people who are now considered a threat to democracy were made believe that "The System", "The Government", "America", were representing them and their interests... not interests to their "objective" advantage, but the interests they always had in their own minds as being more pleasing to them.
Democracy can not pretend to exist unless totally opposite different sorts of people are fooled into believing that democracy revolves around them, and the rest are just there to be tolerated until, hopefully, one day, they somehow disappear.
The decades previous to the 1970s have been established as not being as democratic as they were advertised, and the subsequent ones are now being considered the same by the people who can not find now official lies to believe: so now they need Trumpist lies.
Fox is not even about that: Fox is all about whatever pays better, just like A3Media in Spain: from whatever rabble-rousing tales are more appealing, to miniskirts and decolletés of female anchors catering both to "liberated" women as well as to male chauvinists.
