The post something funny thread

The morning star, a bit difficult to clean but a useful bit of spikey nasty. The flanged mace is a head turner, but I'd get a wrist ache as it looks a bit heavy to swing about for any length of time.
The cudgel and spiked club, proper old school berserker equipment, running pelmell, headfirst into battle, loincloth trailing in the breeze. From distant fields of conflict even up to the trenches of France a real weapon. Bit on the messy side of things though.
I'd pass on the flail as I'd do more damage to myself on that one. and it might scratch my new umbrella stand.
The maul is a bit heavy and I'm a bit worried about getting splinters off the handle.
The war hammer good dual purpose piece of kit. After a hard day battling the ravaging hordes, go home and fix those loose roof tiles.
The other half don't like me playing with the bladed stuff as I usually end up in A&E.
I'm going with the cudgel as when I drop it on my foot, it won't stick in and make a mess all over the carpets.

All I can think of is that EVEN if you managed to survive a battle WITH your limbs intact, you would likely have torn or punctured flesh in an era in which there was no real antiseptic, no antibiotic, and people died of tetanus, sepsis, and gangrene. Shudder.

/\ The crowd didn't sound very enthusiastic. I imagine the squinty-eyed mumblers trying to look around without moving their heads.

They need to let me hear it again , but with much more conviction.
