I thought it was funny and quite appropriate for this thread. There’s enough people here telling others what they can and can’t post. Isn’t over-moderation something you’re always complaining about?

Oh, I'm not championing spiriting away the thread, but speak in support of preventing it from becoming an insult thread. If you remember, that's what happened when People You Miss Seeing on JUB was weaponized instead of just posting people who were missed.

If we want to see this become a shitfest of national, cultural, or other insults, it's a low bar.

There are members of JUB who would find trans-bashing humor "funny," but it's still a better idea to leave that to some other hate thread.

There are members of JUB who found Parkland funny and posted insults to Floridians in the immediate aftermath. It didn't make the forum very admirable.

If I'm posting memes or jokes calling all Brits drunkards, all Mexicans thieves and cowards, all Germans genocidal maniacs, all Frenchmen effeminate layabouts, or all Canadians simpletoms, DO point it out, because that's what I'm objecting to, plain and simple bigotry waltzing in as humor.

Does everyone have to get every post as humorous? Hardly.

But we don't have to turn a blind eye when bigotry is posted.
