Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

The post something funny thread

Looks like a control cable. Or maybe a power cord to what looks like a generator.

Either way, it's just a puppet show.

They might as well be jumping cars while suspended from a crane. LOL

While I would say I met the King if I was standing in a crowd and he shook my hand as he passed I don’t think it would be wrong to say I met with the King at Buckingham palace to discuss world hunger.

I was about to say the same thing. I "met with" means I spent time with the King for a purpose. Saying simply, I "met the King" is more like shaking his hand in a greeting line. Maybe this is an American English difference?

Still, not as bad as when people write/say "from" after "where did you get that".
"Where" and "from where" are not the same, but if usage commands that you "must" not add "from" in that case...

Maybe it is a case of divided by a common language. I met the King could easily be simply a case of shaking his hand. However, if I were to meet the King for something more substantive, I would still not use "with".

Languages (like any other social pillar, like law, politics, morals, folklore, religion...) are there not to divide, but to mask the fundamental abyss among all individuals and, eventually, in cases like that, a crack in usage merely reveals the fundamental failure, the impossible task, to keep people together at all times... at least for as much as they are aware and thinking, and going with whatever flow is driving them.
Oh, I had not posted such a belamian post in a long time, even discounting the 11-month and 1 day serving.

I have no clue what this means.
