That Teen Titans Go episode in which the British Queen wants revenge over Americans for the 1773 Tea Party waste of tea... funny because it's the childish vision of adult Americans believing that the British resent them for gaining independence (I still miss the "saved your ass in WWII" for the factual "we received your help in avoiding a world shared with nazis and japremacists" or "you let us our ass get kicked in Vietnam, Afghanistan and not even achieve actual peace in Korea).

 I was having lunch yesterday with my parents, and I caught the end of that episode  :rotflmao:

While I was in the USA as an exchange student, one of my classmates asked me where I was from.

Me: “I’m from Azerbaijan”

Her: Azer… whatt? Where is it?

Me: Hmm… Do you know the Caspian sea?

Her: No, I have no idea.

Me: OK, Do you know where Turkey is?

Her: No, well… kind of… can’t remember now

Me: Alright, do you know where Iran is?

Her: Africa?

Me: No… OK, do you know where Russia is?

Her: Sorry, I don’t know exactly.

Me: Exactly? Have you ever seen a Map? The World Map. There is a huge, giant country that spans all the way from Europe to Japan - that is Russia. If you haven’t seen it, then I am sorry, I can’t explain where Azerbaijan is. :)

There's the reflection of both a dreary past and future in this one:

So I'm walking home Friday from the library and I see an elderly woman trying to get down stairs, carrying groceries.

I offer her my arm and to carry the groceries for her. She thanks me and I tell her she reminds me of my grandmother, who was also fiercely independent. I miss Savta, she was not a kind lady, but she was very inspiring.

"Well, you'll see her in heaven," she says.

I say nothing.

"You do believe in heaven, right?" she asks.

I tell her no, I'm secular.

She proceeds with a rant about how secular people have no morality and don't even know the bible. "Were you even taught the Ten Commandments?" she asked in a superior tone.

"In two languages, including the original," I inform her. "I was raised Jewish." I can rattle them off in full on demand in Hebrew and English.

"Jewish people killed Jesus," she said as we arrive to her car. "That's why God punished them with a Holocaust." I’m carrying her groceries with one hand and helping her down the street.

I am proud to say I didn't ‘accidentally’ drop her groceries. I'm very proud of myself for not losing my temper.

I did leave her groceries by the car and say "Well, I hope you get home safely," I said, shaking with rage and walking away.

My grandmother survived Auschwitz.

God (Allah or Yahweh) is working on an American holocaust... it's such a young nation, it still needs more time for its own sins to properly ripe
