The post something funny thread

"They had their faith weaponized against them into bigotry."

Absolutely spot on.
When he said that, I thought he was letting his parents off a bit too lightly. Victimization has become a national pasttime .

His statement attempts to make his parents unaccountable for bigotry they absorbed from their leaders. That's not good enough. We are accountable for what we accept. The Germans were accountable for the hatred they accepted as espoused by their leaders. Humans can tell cruelty when they see it. If you sit in the pew and hear preaching to hate your neighbors, you are accountable for adopting that teaching.

Well, the loudmouthed ones don't, but there are a lot of Christians like that lady bishop who spoke right to Trump's face.
Yes, there are a very few who do, including Speaker Pelosi, but great swaths of Christians on the left and right hate their enemies, and are no different than any other political enemies, less their sanctimony.

No, he was calling to account the monsters that call themselves "pastors" and teach people to believe that way.

But his premise was that the congregants were good people led astray. Every other word in the prophets and the New Testament warns the reader of false prophets and being led astray. If your defense for becoming a hatemonger is being a fool, you have no defense.
