I'm ambivalent about pot. Over a dozen members of my siblings' families are addicted to it, and not a one of them has a life worth living. They're all subsisting.

And a close friend from JUB is addicted, along with stronger drugs, which seem to have made him very paranoid. I'm not of the opinion that is the prevalent effect, but I sense is has been a factor in his decline, and he's not old yet.

I'm for legalization, not because I think pot is a good thing, but because I think legalization removes the excuse to lock up so many people. Mind you, I'm not at all convinced those same people are not guilty of a lot of crime like petty theft, etc., but at least the drug charges would be off the table.
