If only she could have been in charge instead of most of the PM's you've had...

God save the Queen.

In Canada, Her Majesty the Queen is the Guardian of our Res Publica!

(but we celebrate her in May)

We have the Queen's birthday off in Australia in June

I'm told that the first verse of 'God Save the Queen' would be played at the commencement at EVERY film screening and EVERY theatrical and concert performance up until the 1960s.

...so when is her actual birthday, if different places celebrate it on different months?

Her actual birthday is today.

Her Majesty's "official" birthday is celebreated on different dates. This year in the UK it's Monday, 6 June.

You where told right. In 1949 and 1950 when I was in the cast of Annie Get Your Gun touring Australia and New Zealand, it was play every night and twice on Wednesday and Saturday (matinees).

But back then it was "God Save the King".

BBC Radio 4 still plays the national anthem when they finish broadcasting at about 1.00am. And yesterday they played it on the hour for the Queen's birthday.

Our radio stations used to play the Star Spangled Banner when they signed off.

Thanks unload. Love the photos.

Happy Birthday Your Majesty.

She is a Lady of great dignity and beauty.
