Today is the official birthday of Her Majesty the Queen. The usual Trooping the Colour ceremony was held in London this morning.

The Birthday Honours include Daniel Day-Lewis who is knighted and Angelina Jolie who is made an honorary dame. Honorary because she's not a British subject.

Dame Maggie Smith is made a Companion of Honour and Stephen Sutton is awarded a posthumous MBE.

She's not the only old queen celebrating her birthday today....let me cut you a piece of cake there Bettie Battenburg....

Actually my bday is July 27 but points for effort. It's not my bday but I dance anyway.

Time to rain on the parade! Don't you think all of this stuff is a bit stupid? It is just so old fashioned and makes me really embarrassed about our country. This and the Queen's speech in recent weeks make us look so old fashioned and stuck in the past, I hate it!

I'd guess you're in a minority there. Fair play to you though. What I'd suggest is that you bugger off and live somewhere else, which is what you've done.

As a great adimrer of everything UK,
I want to wish Her Majesty a most joyous birthday, and wishes for continued good health and a long, long reign.

Almost seven and a half million million don't hate it. They have left their homes to join in the warm embrace of England, the Welfare State, the queen and the free medical service.

Aye and I went somewhere else that does this silly stuff! It all just feels pointless to me and I have so much time spent with non English people laughing at me and the country for doing all the stupid stuff - not so much the monarchy, but just all the silly poncing around like today. But if its really what others want I will have to keep silent or else be told to go away again!

Seven and a half million million? What does this refer to?

... What does this refer to?

It refers to the more than seven million people who have left their homes, family, society and culture outside England to join England's family, society and culture and its generous Welfare State and medical service.

Yeah I don't think they do it for the royal family or historical traditions, more economic security and freedom.

...more economic security and freedom.

The queen is the symbol for all that economic freedom. The queen and her representatives pays out £166.98 BILLION each year to allow people to live. The Romanians don't get paid money to live. Neither do the Bulgarians.

By representatives, do you mean the public? Because the monarchy costs the UK public £202.4m a year.

Anyway this is not the place for us to go into this.
