It's funny that just today I was wondering how we stacked up against other forums but I couldn't remember the name of the site that ranks them. To be honest, we are a bit lower than I expected so let's get to work!
 
I'd like to post again to point out that the NSync fan message boards are ranked number 100.

Based on the recent media exposure and the winter months coming to the northern hemisphere, I think we might see 300 by... *SCRATCHES HEAD* ... *HITS PIPE, SIPS COFFEE*... *CARRY THE ONE*... ... April 8, 2011. :D

Yes, the election will do more for political Forums than for JUB...

But I'm also thinking there are a lot of Forums which don't have much of a political leaning one way or another...or, in some cases, are more oriented to non-US membership. Am I assuming correctly that the rankings are worldwide?

I didn't realize, until my most recent look at this thread, that the rankings weren't based on level of activity, but total posts. (What happened to the rankings about three years ago when JUB was massively made over, and thousands and thousands of old threads were dropped? That probably "cost us" from being at #300 already...)

This place does have a surge of activity during elections, that's where my estimate came from. My estimate also assumes that we're already "tickling 300" before the elections, maybe we're at #302 or 304 or something like that.
