The Rabbit Hole

Jesus Rareboy, put your feet up and rest.

How do you know you've got a clot? I'm the world's worst for consulting Dr Google, but he's not always reliable.
I have a long history of coagulopathy and from my mother's side of the family...a great intimacy with the physics and chemistry of all of this.

The best part of your advice is that it is the exact opposite of what I have to do. I am scarfing aspirin and avoiding any position that allows the blood to pool and clot.

In my past I have survived multiple pulmonary emboli and came home early so that I could play with my cats to keep the circulation going. Until I see the Haematologist, I have my alarm set for every 2 hours to make sure sure I wake up and keep my circulation moving.

This is all a fascinating in vivo study btw of of whether Riviroxiban works over the long term...or whether this migratory thrombophelbitis is a harbinger (symptomatic) of pancreatic or other cancers.

Wish me Luck!

I did. Spent Tuesday afternoon in Emerg. But a PE was ruled out so that was the first really important thing.

And I have subsequently had the u/s and found to have superficial veinous thrombosis (which I told everyone I had) so I have a follow-up u/s this week coming up to see how it is resolving.

And I have a follow-up with a Haematologist in a couple of weeks. My biggest concern, other than cancer would be veinous ulcers which are horrible to deal with.

The gene pool. Make sure it is filtered and not too deep or too shallow.

Thanks Mom.

But at the moment, without going crazy, I am able to manage pain with an occasional T3 and the pre-gabalin at low dose.

Not a great day today. Had to help dig a car out from being stuck and of course, seem to have re-injured or exacerbated the foot injury.

The pain is the kind that makes you a little nauseous every time you stand up or walk although by now I have have gotten more or less used to it.

But threw in the towel and with a nice Pinot Grigio...have taken a Pregabalin just to stop the constant shooting pain.

You are in the wars!

Is pregabalin the right sort of thing for short-term pain relief? I thought it was more of a long-term drug which should be taken consistently. If I hurt my foot, I think I'd go for paracetamol or ibuprofen.
