The Real World: Cancun!

This season was filmed from the end of January to early April, which is really short compared to other seasons. I read they had to end production early.
 
After watching the aftershow, I 've lost alot of respect for Jonna. She never really was that entertaining to begin with, but after watching how rude she was being toward Jasmine i just don't like her at all. Her sarcasm and body language didn't help the situation either.

Yeah, and she saying she didn't hook up with Pat when they showed images from next episode and they kiss...

Next season is being filmed in Washington DC

I think another reason for the shorter seasons are the ratings drop. The producers, most likely, don't want to drag on a season that's not getting a lot of viewers to begin with.
 
Well I know the swine flu scare is what wrapped production this year. But in the past (2002 and before), the show would be filmed from January to June, once a year. Each season had more than 22 episodes and would air from June to November.

Then they started filming twice a year in different locations by 2003 and it messed up the flow of everything.
 
^I get the feeling that he does like black girls and she would not be his first. I think it is just her hungry tiger routine that put him off. I still think his skinny ass is sexy. I dont know about all that shit he was doing to his hair though. People need to stop with that.

On a side note, my friend told me those are tanning wipes that CJ is always rubbing on his body. What a loser.

I was totally wondering what those were...I thought maybe they were like Oxy wipes or some other like astringent wipes or something. Never heard of tanning wipes/why would you use tanning wipes while you're in Cancun? lol
 
Are you sure Pat replaces Joey? That sounds pretty odd to me. Although it would make sense because of their jobs they would get someone who already works for student city. But I also kind of doubt it because of the way the 2 dopey guys were trashing Pat on the aftershow. I dont think they would do that to their roommate.

It's pretty groundbreaking that on this gay forum the "hot" guy (CJ) is almost universally disliked. Ordinarily people make all kinds of lame excuses for hot guys being douche bags on these shows. Maybe gay times are changing.
 
^^ Its not about whos hot. Personality has a lot to do with it. You could be gorgeous as ever, but if your attitude stinks, it's unattractive.

No doubt CJ is good looking (and Im pretty sure he'd still get laid just from his physical), but that's all he has going for him IMO. Body isn't enough for me though.
 
^I know personality is important. But I was saying usually on these boards, if a guy is hot people forget about how horrible his personality and make excuses.

Also, CJ seems to be unlucky with the ladies so far, despite his hot body. nothing really happens for him. How pathetic when that slut Amanda wouldnt fuck him when he was totally naked. He looked like a clown. That's prolly why he got so mad at the girls because Amanda wasnt giving him any.

It was so lame when the guys were trying to trash Pat on the aftershow. They're just jealous because Pat is this skinny little guy but he gets more play than all of them combined.

Let others make excuses. I won't give someone the time of day if they have a sour attitude. If I met someone like CJ, I'd just walk the other direction. Plus, I don't try and hook up the first time I meet someone, that's all he's after and he does look pathetic.

Just got done watching episode 5. "Payback, Piglets and Projects". I usually miss it on TV because I'm working so I usually end up catching it online. MTV's site ALWAYS has "unavailable-check-back-later" videos. It's annoying. I'm a bit behind and haven't been able to watch episode 6 & 7 yet.




Thoughts

I officially hate Joey. Going that low, and throwing "cut / self-multilation" jokes is downright LOW like some of the cast members have said. He probably couldn't have come up with anything better, to diss her with. Joey, along with CJ I think? saying people who cut themselves do it for attention are just plain IGNORANT. I agree with emile. (says she knows all about it and has had a friend gone through it, so she feels for aiiya). Look at it, this way guys...

- if a person who is KNOWN to be an attention-whore is cutting themselves.... I think its safe to say it *IS* for attention, because that is what they love doing. Seeking attention.

- if a person who ISN"T known to be an attention-whore is cutting themselves... I think it's safe to say that it damn serious. Self-multilation / suicidal shouldn't be joked with (but some people do it anyways, sadly). It's a SERIOUS lonely cry for help. When a person is going through so much in life, and has hit rock-bottom emotionally wise where everything is going wrong... sometimes people do go down this dark route. I'm really glad to see the girls (Emile, jonna, jazmine) support her and be there for her when she is at her weakest. Aiiya really needs it at this moment. Love, and care. The guys are being complete douches. After watching this episode, I just lost a lot of respect for Joey. Especially with the immatureness. Come on, posting notes around with the house in red markers / blood. that is NOT cool. It's not aiiya that needs to grow up, it's HIM.

I dislike aiiya at times, but this is one episode where I am on her side. Plus, out of all the roommates on here. It looks like she's the one whose going to be learning the most about themselves, and how to better themselves as a person. It's going to be quite interesting! :) This season is definitely awesome, unlike past seasons (las vegas, ugh. boring cast).

Also, I know how Aiiya is feeling because I too.... have done some self-multilation to myself in the past. Long story, short : I was going through a Life-Crisis where EVERYTHING was going wrong.

1. Parent's were treating me like shit
2. struggling with school / grades
3. work was hectic
4. going through a breakup with a cheating boyfriend

I hit rock bottom emotionally wise and just went into this deep, deep depression for months. Crying like I never did before. It's kind of like a volcano slowing building up, then finally exploding. I took the dark route, and started self-multilating / cutting myself. At the time, I thought physical pain overlapped emotional pain... it levels things out & keeps it balanced. When you cut deep enough, so that it stings, thats when you know you've done it right. If it stops stinging, cut up a new area. That way, it'll make emotional pain hurt less. Yep, been there done that.

One of my friends said to me "Honestly, I think your doing it for attention-purposes because people who cut themselves want attention. It's a general stereotype". Boy, was I not only FURIOUS, but UPSET also. All my friends know me be the LEAST person to seek attention, it's just not my thing. Later, when I explained all the things going wrong with life, my friend changed views & understood.

On the other hand, if it was with one of our other friends (some feminin queen who is infamously badly, known for being an attention-whore) started cutting themselves, *THEN*, [/B]it for sure done for attention-purposes.

So really.... it all depends on the person .
 
^ I knew that. He went to win back his ex-girlfriend. He's still with that black Irish girl Noirin that he met in Australia.
 
The next one will be "The Real World -- Washington, DC." They have a house at S and 21st (I think that is the corner) and saw the cast out last night for the second time.

They had just arrived and went out to Cobalt Bar for the "Best Package Contest." Thursday night they were at Nellie's Sports Bar (both are gay). One guy is gay, one is bisexual and a friend of mine has been out with one of the cast -- I can't wait to see how and if they show what!

Looked like the two women were "discussing." The guys seemed pretty stiff at the table -- my friends and I were laughing and having a good time so we probably won't be featured.

It will be interesting to see my city on the next edition!
