The Republicans couldn't even get on the debate stage properly

No, those are the "theocrats" (a.k.a. "Republicans"). They want to model the US government after modern Iran.

I don't own a television.

What does that have to do with Kasich's bigotry? Are you trying to say that the HRC is lying about Kasich because they prefer Hillary to Bernie??? Does that even make sense? And what about the myriad of other sources which confirm Kasich's long history of bigotry? Are they all lying?

No, Kasich has NOT said he would not try to appoint judges who would overturn Obergefell. In fact, everything he has said indicates that that is precisely what he would do, should he ever be given the chance. What he said was that he would obey the law (presumably until he has the chance to change it to his liking) - as if he has any choice in the matter.

I have never understood why you worship at the feet of these bigots. You keep insisting that a man who says gay marriage is wrong (and who tried to stop it), who tried to stop gay adoption, who did block gay couples in Ohio from obtaining birth certificates for their children, who continues to oppose the outlawing of anti-gay discrimination, who says he is disgusted by your "lifestyle," and who is "amazed" that any school would teach that gays have contributed to civilization, is our friend.

Kasich is a disgusting bigot. Please stop pretending that he is some kind of gay hero, just because the Supreme Court has forced his hand. You did the same thing with Mitt Romney - insisting he was our friend when he opposed gays being permitted human rights. I don't understand why you love these people who want you to suffer grievously.

I would not consider taking rights away from gays "lifting everyone up."

And the only reason he expanded Medicaid in Ohio was because he had to - he didn't have enough money to fund the budget without it.

:rotflmao:

"Attending a gay wedding" is hardly a "test" for gay rights. He (allegedly) attended the wedding of a "friend" (he won't say who or where or when). A(n alleged) wedding that Kasich would have prevented if it had been in his power to do so. He said he was "very disappointed" by Obergefell. He said he wouldn't kick his daughter out on the street if she came out as gay - what phenomenal support! (!) And agreeing to follow laws about which he has no choice but to accept is hardly "support" for gay rights.

The man who passed your "test" favors allowing people to discriminate against gays. He helped veto legislation in Congress that would have outlawed discrimination against homosexuals nationally. Thanks in part to that, it is perfectly legal in Kasich's Ohio to fire a person from a job on the grounds of homosexuality, or to refuse that person housing - positions which Kasich continues to support!

That's funny, since Kasich is readily comparable to Cruz on the issue of gay marriage; and your long history on this site has been of 100% support for Republican candidates and positions. I know you pretend to support Sanders because you believe Clinton is unbeatable by any Republican, while you hold out hope that some Republican might defeat Sanders. Your attempts to rehabilitate Trump into a human being have been humorous.

Somehow, you ignore the vast trove of readily available information which proves Kasich a homophobic bigot. But I am the person who doesn't read or listen.

The Twilight Zone needs a new lead character

The guy who doesn't watch debates - there's a lot of them

Then comments as if he's aware of what was said

but just for shits and giggles .......

Using "they" to describe any group - the Repubs - Blacks - Muslims - Women

is LAME

TVs have come down in price - a lot - you can buy used ones too - but if you refuse to get access to the debates I would ask that you refrain from commenting about candidates

Kasich isn't a 'bigot" and like term 'they" you throw it around way too easy which diminishes real examples - but you don't care about that

oh he's "not said that he would not" well that settles it - i guess since your default is "bigot' then you assume he will - that'd be on YOU

Kasich wasn't making any fans telling his gay story at the debate was he ? why would he tell it ? it's not something the audience in republican primaries wants to hear right ? try to think it through w/o your "bigot" lense

no he's not like Cruz and since you don't own a TV or watch debates you can't really comment intelligently

The "trove" that you miss is vast

Not sure why I even engage with the likes of you

You're the Benvolio equivalent - congrats

One of my professors in college used to say we should be suspicious of people who get their information from televison.

You don't seem to be aware that there are any other sources.

Kasich isn't a 'bigot"

His voting record in Congress and his governorship of Ohio has been 100% anti-gay.

That would be ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. Over the past four decades, every time he has had an opportunity to bring down gay people legislatively, he has done so. Every single time.

He continues to oppose gay marriage and even gay civil unions. He opposes allowing gays to adopt (he fought the federal courts in a futile attempt to prevent gay couples in Ohio from adopting children). He opposes legislation that would outlaw discrimination against gays. He says that your "lifestyle" is disgusting and that he is amazed that any school would tealch that gays have contributed to society.

And you claim he is not a bigot. Because he gives the usual (fundamentalist) explanation that his hatred is actually love; we gays are just too stupid to appreciate it.

Kasich wasn't making any fans telling his gay story at the debate was he ?

He seems to have made a fan of you.

why would he tell it ?

Presumably to rope in people like you.

Kasich is a politician. He threw out a line in a single debate about how he "loves" gay people because he is a Christian (even though he wants to take our rights away). Fundamentalist Christians are always telling us they love us, we gays are just too stupid to recognize the removal of our rights and discrimination against us as the love that it truly is.

Kasich has never uttered a single word in support of gay rights. Not one word. Not ever. He said he would obey the law (as if he had any choice in the matter), that he would not disown his own child for being gay, and that he loves gay people because he is a Christian. That's exactly what Ted Cruz says.

it's not something the audience in republican primaries wants to hear right ? try to think it through w/o your "bigot" lense

He told the Republcan audience eactly what they wanted to hear. That he loves gay people but will not support gay rights.

And he told you exactly what you wanted to hear - that he "loves" you.

Indeed.

If one does not have a television, he surely does not deserve to have a voice, does he?

uhhhh...I would point out that it is possible to stream and watch debates on a computer now.

uhhhh...I would point out that it is possible to stream and watch debates on a computer now.

I tried that. What connections I can get aren't fast enough to stream video.

But I do watch the clips on YouTube.

Actually preferable....you get to whip through the shit you don't need to watch and get to rewind and reassess the answers. But the point for for BenDan's benefit is that television is no longer a necessary means of getting information or staying informed.

ahh according to the video,
it was the TV producers fault for not hiring someone to tell the candidates to come out because they couldn't hear.

Donald Trump actually made a good impression on me, a guy who hates him, for standing by Ben Carson during Carson's stage fright. He showed his empathetic, altruistic side. Donald Trump showed his human side. WTF? While christians like Cruz just passed him by. Three cheers for Two Corinthians! Or should I say Luke 10:25-37?

I thought for a second they had pre-planned a strike to refuse to go on stage.

Carson did not have stage fright. He was waiting for his name to be called, so he could go on stage. The candidates were told not to go on stage until their names were called. And Trump was not standing beside Carson to give him emotional support. Trump, also, was waiting for his name to be called so he could go on stage.

Yes, both Trump's and Carson's names had already been called, but neither of them heard it.

^ Watch the video:

Neither Carson nor Trump can hear Martha Radditz's voice. They can hear David Muir, but not Radditz.

Carson is called by Radditz, but he can't hear it, so he waits backstage. A stagehand tells him to go on and he begins to do that, when he hears David Muir call Ted Cruz, so he backs off. Then Radditz called Trump, but Trump couldn't hear her either, so he waited backstage with Carson. Then Muir called for Carson, which Carson could hear, so he came out. Then Radditz called for Trump, but Trump can't hear Radditz, so he still doesn't come out. Finally, Muir called for Trump, and Trump could hear Muir, so he came out.

Every person called by Martha Radditz (except Bush) hesitated. Every person called by David Muir (except Kasich) came out. The confusion was compounded by the fact that the moderators were facing the audience, not the stage. So, the moderators did not realize that some of the candidates were not coming out.

My grandfather used to hate female newscasters - not because he was a misogynist, but because he could not hear them. Grandapa loved to keep up with the news, but he could make no sense of what the women were saying, and it drove him crazy. Hearing loss with aging begins with the highest frequencies and progresses to lower and lower frequencies with increasing age. It is generally worse in men than women. Female voices are higher pitched than male, and therefore more difficult for middle-aged men to comprehend. Comprehension is further aggravated by incidental noise, such as whatever was going on backstage.

This was a comedy of errors, but none of the candidates were at fault here. They were just doing their best to follow their instructions - Do NOT come out until your name is called.

And my singular goal is to get Benvolio's job...

Why stop there, why not take several jobs from Real Americans™ and abort a few white fetuses along the way!

Good times.
