A Trump-adoring Wayne County Republican who spread misinformation about COVID-19 and the vaccine has been hospitalized in intensive care after contracting the virus.

William Hartmann, former vice-chairman of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers, has been on a ventilator since about Nov. 6, according to his sister Elizabeth Hartmann.

Two sources confirmed to Metro Times that Hartmann has been in intensive care since early November.

The status of his health is unclear.

Seven doctors contract Covid after attending Florida anti-vaccine summit [The Guardian]

Seven anti-vaccine doctors fell sick after gathering earlier this month for a Florida “summit” at which alternative treatments for Covid-19 were discussed.
“I have been on ivermectin for 16 months, my wife and I,” Dr Bruce Boros told the audience at the event held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, adding: “I have never felt healthier in my life.”

The 71-year-old cardiologist and staunch anti-vaccine advocate contracted Covid-19 two days later, according to the head event organizer, Dr John Littell.

Littell, an Ocala family physician, also told the Daily Beast six other doctors among 800 to 900 participants at the event also tested positive or developed Covid-19 symptoms “within days of the conference”.

I had not heard of this event, so I did some reading to find out what this "summit" was and who the attendees were. The "summit" was held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida. In addition to the irony of holding discussions of horse dewormer at an equestrian center, be aware that the attendees were sitting in a place that is known for being full of horse shit on a regular basis.

First piece of misinformation: It was not a "summit" of doctors. It was a series of presentations by physicans on the lunatic fringe.

The summit was organized by John Littell, a family practice physician in Kissimmee, Florida.

Among the presenters was Dr. Robert Malone who claims that he "invented" mRNA vaccines. He did not. Dr Malone has his own page on FactCheck.org.

The press reports on the summit referred to a presenter "Dr Paul McCullough" a Texas Cardiologist. I couldn't find anything about a Paul McCullough who was a cardiologist in Texas. I suspect that the presenter was actually Dr Peter McCullough, a cardiologist who formerly worked at Baylor in Dallas. Dr McCullough was "separated" from Baylor in Feb, 2021 under a confidential legal agreement. Baylor/Scott & White and the Texas A&M medical school have distanced themselves from Dr McCullough and they are currently suing him to stop him from using his former position at Baylor in his COVID-19 claims. Baylor/Scott & White has also filed for a restraining order to stop him from using their name when he does these presentations.

Bruce Boros, the physician who was cited as one of the people who came down with COVID-19 after the summit was a physician at an urgent care in Key West. His clinic is one of the prescribers of ivermectin and is the one who claimed that had been taking ivermectin for 18 months and it had prevented him from getting COVID-19... until he attendeed a summit about fringe treatments for COVID-19 at an equestrian center in Ocala. Apparently, ivermectin did't work for him: Dr Boros is 71 years old and is apparently quite ill, although he hasn't been hospitalized yet.

I was talking to a guy the other night; seemingly intelligent and clued up. He works in the prison service as an educator (the irony will not be lost on you) so has one-to-one contact with randoms all day
He said he had had his first shot of AZ but was holding off having the second and booster shots.
I asked him why and he said it was because it hadn't been tested for long enough
So I asked him how long it would need to be tested for for him to feel safe taking it. He said 6 years
To which I said 'If you survive that long'
No where comes the kicker.
The guy is a fitness fanatic and said he wanted to shift his lockdown weight as he works as a butler-in-the-buff
His method of fast dieting is - get this - to do a line of coke 4 times a day to suppress his appetite
So he won't take the vaccine in case it harms him but he is happy to snort street coke which s cut with god knows what!

I guess he counted on coke leaving a good-looking (no matter how vain he is or isn't) dead body, while the vaccine might turn him into a few decades-old mummy
