The Return of Karma

Meanwhile...

Meet Veronica Wolski, an Illinois QAnon fan who puts up "Never Comply" signs to encourage people not to give up their freedoms over COVID. Freedoms like not wearing a mask. Or refusing to get a vaccine.

Veronica isn't experiencing much freedom these days from her bed in AMITA Resurrection Hospital.

Her "followers" in QAnon are calling the hospital harassing them to give her a certain horse deworming medication.

These people are sick. Ok, we are going to free her. Dump her on the sidewalk in the hospital bed and you take care of her.

Wow, that should be her epitaph though I bet she probably didn't have any insurance and those letters can get expensive.

Married couple leave 7 children after dying from COVID-19 within hours of each other [Fox 2]
Seven children are grieving the loss of their parents after both got infected by COVID-19. Both the mother and father were 44 years old...

No one expected Troy and Charletta Green’s love story to end so tragically. The Detroit couple were thousands of miles apart when they died within hours of one another earlier this week, leaving behind seven children between the ages of 10 and 23...

Green says it all started in mid-August as Troy and Charletta planned a family trip to Florida. Troy stayed behind - he was not feeling well.

Charletta fell ill and was hospitalized with COVID-19 two days after arriving in Florida.

Troy was taken to Sinai Grace Hospital for Covid a day later. Both were put on ventilators. Their anniversary was spent in ICU..

Green says prior to the Florida trip, Troy and Charletta were considering getting a Covid vaccine, but they contracted the virus before they decided to get the shot.

SoCal nurse, husband leave behind 5 kids, including newborn, after dying of COVID-19 [KTVU]
A Southern California couple leaves behind five children, including a newborn, after dying of COVID-19.

No one thought Davy Macias, a 37-year-old nurse, would be fighting for her life due to the virus...

According to family members, Davy and her husband Daniel both contracted the delta variant after going on a family vacation...

Davy was seven months pregnant when she was hospitalized. Her brother said that made treatment very difficult...

When Davy's conditions got worse, doctors delivered her newborn baby six weeks early – a child Davy never even got to meet...

Davy died in August; her husband was fighting for his life in the hospital but unfortunately died on September 9.

Family members say she was not vaccinated against the virus, citing the pregnancy.

^ This is the real tragedy.....these children will be forever damaged by the loss and likely the family split apart. The death of my Great grandmother from the Spanish flu...because her husband wouldn't get the doctor....set in motion a chain of events that affected his children forever.

Meanwhile.....another family is without the husband and father....

I don't see it that way. What kind of adult do you think these children are likely to grow up as? Perhaps the COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE death of their parents will force them to reject some (if not all) of the ideology that they've been exposed to all their lives.

The only thing the people featured in this thread represent to me is One Less Red Vote.

I feel somewhat sorry for the kids left behind, but as far as the parents are concerned....

That said it all..."The answer to the original question by the way is that good old Ken has been airlifting CHRISTIANS out of Afghanistan."

That told me a lot about you.

It did? Like what exactly? Here's the report I was referring to.

Glenn Beck was aided in his travels last week by televangelist Kenneth Copeland, who lent his private jet to the conservative talk radio host as he worked to rescue endangered Christians in Afghanistan.

Beck’s operation, The Nazarene Fund, has resulted in the rescue of more than 5,000 Christian refugees, who have now been relocated in a handful of different countries — a Goliath task he said was accomplished with no help from the U.S. government.

Back to the subject of Kenneth Copeland's great-grandson, first mentioned here.

I wouldn't exactly consider myself an expert on Christianity

But you're an expert on karma and that's what matters.

This is where sometimes it's hard to understand karma because you might think that karma was paying a visit to young Clark. But that's not how it works ... Karma doesn't take away things you own, because those can be replaced. Karma visited Ken and took away something that he won't be able to replace.

It is indeed hard to understand your notion of karma. Your explanation corresponds to my second surmise (karma requiring a human sacrifice). I don't know if Clark is in this picture of the Copelands version 3.0. KC also has a son and a daughter from one of his two earlier marriages, and they have their own families. They look more than capable of churning out more great-grandchildren, so he hasn't been deprived of something that he won't be able to replace.

It could be argued that money is just money whereas a life is a unique individual with its own potential and is therefore of greater value; and I would agree, which is why it appals me that you chose this incident to use as a stick with which to beat Kenneth Copeland. It seems clear to me that, prompted by Telstra's innocent question, you went shopping for an excuse to gloat and found the report of the drowning (which I'm guessing you were previously unaware of, since it wasn't widely reported) and you're laying it at karma's door.

In the post I just quoted from you showed pictures of his extravagance, as if you thought I wasn't already aware of all that. Did you think that throwing pictures of his egregious wealth in my face would make me change my mind and agree that the desire to punish his greed outweighed the death of a small child? Neither you nor the three backing singers who commented straight afterwards expressed any concern for the actual victim in this story. How strange, considering the amount of heartfelt sympathy shown throughout the thread for innocent children whose lives have been blighted by adult pigheadedness. Look at this lot:

Another one with a wife and small children.

I feel for her and the kids, but if she isn't angry as fuck right now...

Another one with a pregnant wife.

Doubly fucked up. Four children having to pay for the rest of their lives for their parents' stupid decisions.

Four children who nearly became fatherless...

And let's not forget their four-legged friends:

their poor puppy.

But the two-year-old boy whose life has been thrown away in order, according to you, to restore the karmic balance in the world?

Or baptism gone terribly wrong.

Was he trying to walk on water?

Most likely the Lord was calling him back.

(Note to rareboy: It's striking that most of the comments about children are yours and that you're not among the ya-boo crowd I quoted; but there's a powerful "hive mind" feel to this thread so I'm lumping you all together to make a point about the general attitude here. The more recent posts about children came in after I wrote this last night but I won't add them here, enough's enough.)

So. Any comments?

Died on August 29th, 2021.

Wonder if he ever re-thought his position on vaccines and masks, once he ended up with COVID pneumonia?

Wonder how many other people he spread it to at work or in the community?

The fact that she was a nurse practitioner...and a teacher in nursing at Samford University tells us a lot about the quality of the nursing program at Samford University. Obviously epidemiology and virology are not on the curriculum?

So here we go.

Anyhow. She died on September 3 and her husband is also very ill, including having a stroke likely as a result of COVID. Oh. Her son is really sick too.

And she actually seemed like a really fine person.

Australia managed to get through most of 2020 and part of 2021 with low case numbers. But with Delta variant, it just takes a couple of mistakes...

Melbourne school that flouted lockdown rules hit by COVID outbreak [The Age]
An independent school in Melbourne’s inner-north whose principal has repeatedly flouted public health orders and invited families to send in their children during lockdowns has been hit by a significant coronavirus outbreak...

With the state recording 392 new coronavirus infections on Sunday, the state’s Deputy Chief Health Officer Dan O’Brien said 30 students and staff had tested positive at the Fitzroy Community School in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy North.

“It looks like the case numbers are at least 30 but it’s growing from there,” he said.

Emails obtained by The Age reveal the principal, Timothy Berryman, invited parents to send their children in repeatedly while Melbourne has been in lockdown, arguing that the damage to their mental health from extended periods of remote learning was potentially severe, while the health risks to children from catching coronavirus were negligible.
