It's not just before surgery. It's the weeks and months after surgery. To get someone else's heart transplanted into you, there is long list of requirements so that doctors are convinced you will properly and safely take care of it. Being up to date on all vaccinations is one of those requirements. You follow the rules or you don't get the transplant. Period. It has been that way for decades. This guy is not special, nor is he being discriminated against, and he is not a victim. He is receiving the consequence of his own willful inaction to do what he is supposed to do to qualify for the transplant. Too bad. The price of freeDumb.

^So, Shamgar Connors went to Mexico a few years ago to get an experimental stem cell treatment for his kidney disease. It didn't work. But, no... can't trust vaccines and science.

Forget his vaccine non-compliance. The man is not a good transplant candidate for psychological reasons. Having an organ transplant means years of taking medications daily to suppress the immune system. If he's not willing to get a vaccine so that he can get a transplant, he's also not likely to be compliant with the medications or with the other requirements for post-transplant patients. There's plenty of people on the list who are good candidates, so why waste a kidney on someone who believes he's smarter than the physicians?

This seems like an excellent moment to revive the faux god of retribution, Karma.

Most online and casual uses of it that I encounter, especially JUB, use it as a synthetic god, a Loki. When some celebritiy, particularly a relilgious leader or politician, take a fall, then Karma is the Destroyer. Justice is served, atheistically.

With Trump ascendant, and open corruption and evil once again enshrined with half of America standing by and cheering, our Loki stand-in needs some credit.

Let's figure out what evil the AIDS patients in Africa did to merit being cut off, left to die in their poverty.

And how about those Syrian refugees, destitute after years of abuse from their absolute monster of a dictator? Why does "the universe" hate them so much?

The point? Karma is not a proxy for a dead God. The next time "the wicked prosper", Karma must get the same credit it gets when the wicked fail. There is no backflow valve in Fate's pipeline. If you appropriate Hinduism's concept of GIGO, you have to use it honestly, not like the neutered adoption of "Buddhism" via Zen in the West to filter out the deities.

We deserve Trump just like we deserve coronary disease. No one made you eat the Cheetos. We let our government fail decades ago, and now the tourniquets have staved off the septicemia as long as possible. The gangreen is headed for the heart. It's all about to end, without a comet, without a pandemic, or a Messianic return, just the decay that prosperity and selfishness naturally bring.
