I know plenty of "white people" from various cultures who are Way-Way-Cool, but if Benvolio got his way, I think "America" would become free of ALL people who look different from us. He doesn't like the ones who are already here, either.

The mind boggles, for example, on the idea of a world completely devoid of Asian food.

It wouldn't REALLY be death-by-boredom (I was indeed exaggerating a little), but we'd certainly be poorer for the absence of immigrants.

But he didn't say white people were devoid of culture, he just said society would be boring because of only consisting of one race being a certain way, which is something Benvolio continually suggests. White people do have culture, but if that were the only culture around, it indeed would be boring. And white people aren't the only peoples culture that would be boring if it were the only one around.

That question is impossible for me to answer because I have never even been to China, plus it doesn't have to do with anything because we are talking about America, not China. America is a multicultural society, in which I would find it boring if it ended up changing to just white people. Again, not because white people lack culture, but being around the same people all the time with a culture that only goes so far, would be boring, to me.

If you'd ever been to China...or knew anything about Chinese history for the last 50 years, you'd know the answere.

Getting takeout from your local Chinese restaurant in Bumfuck Saskatchewan hardly qualifies you as a China expert.

America is a multicultural society, in which I would find it boring if it ended up changing to just white people. Yes. I think it's the matter of subtraction of existing delightful variations that would make it boring -- if it had always been nothing but a white culture, there would be nothing to subtract, and it would just be a normal culture interesting within its limits.
