I think I'll devote my efforts to keep some issues confused in my own story, and wait for more info.


Though I did find intriguing the fact that the little device apparently can't be taken away....

I still say it's a reset button, but for what, I have less idea than before -- apparently it doesn't serve to keep adjusting reality until we get some hot sex.

I'll agree with Kuli on this one, and go with "re-set button", too. It seems to shift parallels/spans in the universal time-line continuum.

Why didn't it do anything when the guard captain used it?

I figure it's similar to a "smart" gun/car ignition/door lock. It will only work for the one who's biometrics it's programmed to.

Panic, at first, for a "first time", whether it's your first guy, and/or first girl, is quite normal. Sex itself is quite normal. Even gay sex is more normal than we're lead to believe. SO ... I'm thinking the Duke wins if they Don't have wild, crazy, sweaty, sex!

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what the author thinks ...
