Democrats are NOT "all about killing the unborn" at all. I'm dead set against abortion and I think it's wrong. But I also think that it's a decision that women should make for themselves. I think taking that decision away from people is tyrannical.

By the way... Democrats also have tried to get teens birth access to contraception and birth control information so there wouldn't be any unborn to "kill." But conservatives have fought that tooth and nail and instead insist on a pointless and ineffective "abstiance-only" program that's lead to a rise in STDs and unwanted pregnancies in teens and young adults.

Democrats also campaign to make gay couples able to adopt unwanted children so abortion isn't the only option to women. Conservatives fight that too.

My asshole is nice and tight, but thanks for caring. Reckon I am bit buzzed right now, but I do agree with your points. I was just simply stating both parties' stances on 'life' and how absurd both are. You touched on that and how conflicting they both are (in terms of the birthing aspect that is). I am all for giving people as much information about everything as possible (regardless of validity) with 'sexual' education and let the parties make their own 'informed' decisions. If they choose "poorly" that is their own choice. If I feel I gave them enough information about the subject, I have done all I can do.

The one thing I have learned from my years of debate is to present all sides of a subject and let the party make their own decision. If you make it for them, you are basically a dictator.

You forgot to also mention that while so-called conservatives rail against abortion and tout the amazing benefits of "life" for these unborn, they refuse to actually provide for them with any social programs to help mothers choose life vs. abortion in these cases.

Additionally, these so-called conservatives don't even bother to provide for the children that are already born, with the US having the highest infant mortality death rate in the western world, and some of the worst healthcare results for them as well. Yay! They love freedom alright. The freedom to die from shitty insurance companies fucking every American. Go Team America!

What makes me puke about these so-called "freedom lovers" of the right wing fringe is that expect you to have the freedom to:

1.) Be fucked over by a healthcare insurance company, so that you cower in fear of being fired or let go from your job, thereby not being able to afford to pay for your own heart medication, or your child's diabetes care. No, real freedom is being able to leave a job, start your own company, or let your spouse take a job while your health is protected. Now THAT'S freedom!

2.) Knowing that your children have full access to a college and higher learning institutions without putting yourself, or them into a hole so deep they start life out with $100,000 or more in debt for school. Now THAT'S freedom!

3.) The freedom from fear of being shot and killed as you walk down the street, or being violently attacked with a gun.... now THAT'S freedom!

4.) Knowing that you won't be kicked out of your apartment/flat/home as you get old, or be forced to eat cat food, or not be able to afford your medicines..... now THAT'S freedom!

5.) Being free from the tyranny of a myriad of lawsuits that is the USA for anything and everything frivolous.... now THAT'S real freedom!

6.) Having your privacy vigorously protected by the state from private interests and criminals trying to steal your identity..... now THAT'S freedom!

Shall I go on? It sickens me how sheeplike so many Americans are in thinking they somehow know best, when in study after study, many of these "nanny states" which provide more real freedoms come out as being better places to live, with people who say they are happier, and more secure, not to mention better outcomes. As I said in a topic previously, the tea party is horrible because it does not act in the best interest of its people. If Libertarian policies were to be instated, there would have be no corruption, "ceteris paribus" if you will. Of course we know this is not true which is why the Tea Party will ultimately fail.

If I was more sober, I would have read about how his obese child needs diabetic care because he doesn't know how to nurture him/her or how if you can't pay the rent, you deserved to be kicked out of your 'home', or if you can't find flaws in the frivolous lawsuit against you, you deserved to be sued.

Honey, tell me how these consequences affect you that are not your own fault? The only thing I concur with is #6. Government should have no interest in the private life of its citizens as long as it does not negatively impact the government/infringe on other peoples' rights.

I mean... most diabetics aren't diabetics because they're obese and have bad eating habits. Although type II diabetes (the one caused by obesity) is growing faster in poor families because they can't afford healthy food and the US government approves poisons to be sold as "food" for cheap.

And Frivolous law suits cost us all.

Not like I don't expect people to be responsible for themselves, but the whole "you deserve it" attitude is seldom warranted.

Anyway, I just thought I'd point out something the Right is missing: at the last Libertarian gathering I got to, out of eighty-plus people present, seven-eighths believed that at sometime before three months, the unborn becomes a person.

Two believed there should be criminal penalties associated with abortion -- twenty more said there should be IFF we could get a constitutional amendment defining the beginning of personhood... because it wasn't their job to force their definition of when human life begins.

Where does the entitlement mentality come from? Government has to provide this or that for everyone? Governments don't have anything, they have to take it away from others to give anything to someone. So if everyone is entitled to the fruits of someone else's labor, why should anyone work? And I'm glad someone brought up abortion. Many on the left are ok with killing innocent life. Many on the right are ok with executing demonstrably evil life. There's a distinction there, between innocent and evil life. I don't know exactly when life begins, but I am against the killing and vacuuming out of the most innocent forms of life from a womb, unless the mother's life is in grave danger. Don't bring up the tired old arguments about rape and incest, those are rare circumstances. That's a typical left wing trick to cloud the issue.
