It didn’t strike me as a coming out story so much as an opportunity to interject himself back into the spotlight. Thing is, he didn’t just come out. He’s clearly been out for a long time, just not publicly, something most of us never contend with.

It would be one thing if he had spent his adult life repressed, clinging to religion and tradition because of his upbringing, and apologetic for projecting that onto his charge as a public representative. He’d get dragged for sure, but it would at least be understandable and relatable, and in time, something he could overcome. But he wasn’t, he was at fooking Coachella and cruising around on the gay spring break party bus.

That’s out.

Meanwhile, he was knowingly falling in line with the establishment of popular opinion to maintain the status quo because - as he now says - elected officials can’t be activists? Take that, AOC, Warren, and Sanders... If I ever had an ounce of respect for this confused GOP suck boy, nine pages of Courier font killed it by explaining he knew exactly what he was doing and had absolutely no professional convictions.

Not publicly, except that anyone who follows social media has seen every inch, nook and cranny of him from his leaked Grindr pics (which leaked a year ago).

These are the days of narcissism where we have a group of people who have no insight or capacity for self-examination. It's always someone else's fault. When they get caught, they immediately fall into victim mode.

If you read the Instagram post, he blames the media and claims that he didn't even know what Downton Abbey was. Never mind that the issue was that he used campaign funds to pay for the remodel.

One of the things that is especially frustrating is that he takes absolutely no responsibility for his demise. It's the media's fault, not his fault, not his party's fault. He was viewed as "too moderate" and his own party leaked some of the facts that caused him legal troubles, and he continues to show up at Republican fund-raising events. He was hanged by his party but he bought the rope.
 
He deserves NO sympathy. No matter how good he might look on the outside, on the inside he's a deploreable person. His being anti-gay while in office was only part of the problem: he abused his power and misused funds for personal use.
It makes my blood boil when I hear guys say they would fuck him or date him. Really? Is that how low the bar has sunk for them? There are millions of goodlooking gay men who also are decent human beings, why settle for this douche bag?

If he weren’t a muscular moderately attractive white man, that part of the community (and when I mean that part, I mean white gay men) wouldn’t be falling over themselves to “forgive” him. It he were some old fat man, he’d just get called a creep or something.

Fuck him and he doesn’t deserve an ounce of sympathy or attention. He doesn’t give a fuck about LGBTQ+ and never will. He may have been shunned by the Republican Party but that doesn’t not make him conservative. Honestly I’m surprised there isn’t anyone defending him, considering how many far right users I’ve encountered.

Well, just a reminder... what got him in trouble the last time was redirecting campaign money to his personal use for things like ostentatious decorating. He was also posting all sorts of Instagram pictures from all over the world... pictures made by his "personal photographer" who was traveling with him. His agreement with the government required him to pay that money back to his campaign.

He doesn't seem to learn.

Disgraced former representative Aaron Schock probably doesn’t have too many opportunities to be named a “guest of honor” anywhere, but this past weekend was the exception.

Schock and former US ambassador Richard Grenell were the dual guests of honor at a “pride” event in Nashville, Tennessee for gay Trump supporters.

The event was hosted by the Log Cabin Republicans and featured panels, parties and a Sunday brunch. So, sort of like a MAGA circuit party but with a lot more clothing.

Schock came out as gay in 2020 following a derailed political career in which he voted in favor of the Defense of Marriage Act and against lifting the ban on LGB people in the military.

Grenell served as Trump’s ambassador to Germany, actively promulgated the Big Lie that the 2020 election was rigged, and then took a job with an anti-LGBTQ legal group.

Other distinguished attendees included transphobic YouTuber Arielle Scarcella, who has stated her belief that non-binary people aren’t real because they don’t support Donald Trump, singer Ricky “American” Rebel, and right-wing podcaster Spencer Klavan performing as “The Preacher.” We aren’t sure what that last part means but it sounds awful nonetheless.

Rep. Josh Higganbotham (R-WV), Rep. Joe Alexander (R-NH), and Rep. Eddie Mannis (R-TN) also participated.

Is that the real Melania Trump or Melania Trump in drag? I thought the real Melania Trump slept through important events. Donald might be free. Except he probably sees the Log Cabin Reps as losers. I certainly do.

As for AS(S). He looks as vacuous as his entourage. If he's looking for a job Donald's place probably needs redecorating. Or he himself needs a bit of kneeling down from a sycophant. Either way Donald would be pleased.
