That's the trouble with the Westminster System. It was designed over 200 years ago for rich English gentlemen to indulge in grandiloquent speeches as if they were in an English gentleman's club. Lawyers got into the Westminster parliament. And the lawyers abandoned the idea of gentlemanly discussion, compromise, conciliation and sensible management practices. They indulged in melodrama, attacks and theatrical histrionics such as the one you mention in post #41.

America doesn't have any version of the Westminster System. We invented our own from of democracy, usually called either congressional or representative. To my knowledge the only other democracy that also has this American style system is the Philippines due to their status as a former US territory.

Australia was and still is a colony of Britain. It has a Westminster system. This should be so obvious to even the casual observer of international politics that it would be amazing were anyone to actually miss it.

Sure you're not just trying to convince us that you're really some Australian, clueless of American politics? Lol, nice try.

I am of two minds on this one. The first says that he is harming that which he is.... so therefore he forfeits any simpathy (that thought wins)

However, the second thought is that people get wrapped up into their lives and unless they have true courage and charactor then typically they just go along to get along. somehow this guy ended up a republican and that was his job, it makes him all he is, so i can see him disregarding who he is to keep a happy lifestyle. The fact is most men and women are followers and not leaders. He simply followed his party with vigor.

Still it allows him no discretion among the people he would treat as second class citizens. He wound out his own fate and he can live it.

Nope. Most 'leaders' i meet are lackeys... still if we wanna use your definition then is he not representing the views of those who elected him? By your definition he is faultless and you agree with him because by the majority of his sponsorship he IS doing the right thing. We do not choose folks based on their abilities to distill equality but by their stated positions.

UPDATE: A CBS News spokesperson says that Hod, who lists himself as a "reporter, writer and producer" at CBS on his Linkedin is "not a CBS News employee." … the spokesperson says Hod is not a current freelance contractor of CBS and never pitched the outing of Schock to anyone at the network.

… While Hod frames the post as a hypothetical exploration of when outing is appropriate, he provides lots of details …

I have no way to know if the congressman is indeed gay; however, the evidence offered by Mr. Hod seems less than irrefutable.

And it is interesting that it is now two days since this story broke, and not a peep out of Mr. Shock (who has insisted emphatically and repeatedly in the past that he is straight).

Funny now listening to him speak....

The main owner of the nightclub I worked at used to tell me a lot that he was amazed at how I was able to get along with so many different types of people...and I was able to do so...most of the time anyway...except for THIS kind of guy....I instantly fucking hated these types of men....they made my skin crawl. I didn't even know why...now it makes a lot more sense.
