What does this off topic observation about all democratic systems have to do with this topic?

This is a journalist talking about where the proper line is where journalists should "not cover" things about politicians that compromise their public stances. This is not two people running for the same office and mudslinging.

I have a slightly different perspective on this.
I have suspected since first seeing/hearing him on t.v. that he was a closet case.
But what if he isn't? What if he truly is just a straight guy that believes and promotes anti-gay public policy?
Then this little foray into what it means to be dogged and vilified will give him a taste of what people who share his views have been doing forever.
Talk about a taste of your own medicine................it's Schocking.

Yes, if you were more than an occasional troll visitor to CE&P you would know that an unspoken code of "being balanced by artificially creating an appearance of equal credibility to both sides of any issue" is a common discussed topic/problem about American journalism. And this situation is created partially by the fact that any straightforward covering of political news in an objective fashion will invariably result in screams of a liberal media from the right, such as even disputing blatantly false claims made by politicians that evidence is completely against.
