The Simpsons Movie - July 27, 2007!!!!!!

I saw it Tuesday night. It was good, and there were funny bits, but it wasn't great. Very hit and miss, and at just under two hours could have easily benefited for being shorter. Still worth watching but not as good as it could have been.

"Welcome to Alaska, here's a thousand dollars!"

I liked it. Not the best movie evar or anything, but I definitely had fun with it.

Saw it yesterday and enjoyed it very much. Some very funny bits in it.

I saw Transformers before it and that was far, far better than I was expecting. Thoroughly enjoyable. John Torturro in a summer blockbuster, who would have thunk it?

4/5.

I chucked a good amount, but a lot of times I sat there unphased. It was a little more short than I had wanted, and Lisa's relationship was merely a distraction.

OK I couldn't take it anymore and I went to see it by myself today.

I laughed like a bastard, both loud and hard. I think that someone like myself who is obsessed with the Simpsons appreciated the smaller jokes more.

I loved it! ..|

The die hard Simpsons fan that I am I was TERRIFIED of the prospect of this movie. I love the show. But the quality has decreased in recent years. It's become less and less of a centralized story each episode and it's become just jumpy rapid moving things, which destroys some of the subtle emotion that was so important in earlier episodes.

but I was VERY relieved when I saw the movie. It was hillarious, especially the first 20 minutes or so. I agree that Lisa's storyline didn't quite fit in but the rest of it flowed well. It lacked the ever present allusions and AMAZING one liners the series had at it's peak but it was still very good and one of the best moviesI've seen this summer. It's a shame though Ratitoullie (sp?) is gonna kick it's ass at the oscars.

Saw it last night and laughed a lot. It dragged a little in the middle, and it felt like it wrapped up a little too quickly, but I enjoyed it a lot. Except. . .

*spoiler space*

I would have rather they not had the kissing police officers in there. I saw the movie in a packed teens and adults audience, and when the two cops kissed, all over the theater people were going "eeeew, gross, that's sick" or just groaning. I thought the scene was completely unnecessary and only served to take me out of the movie as I sat there and was reminded of the stupidity of those who aren't yellow-skinned, googly-eyed and living in Springfield.

Laughed my ass off, The animation was so crisp, and way better than the way it looks on TV. A friend told me it made like 70 million bucks this weekend.
:=D:The guys who write this stuff:=D:

Sometimes I think a lot of people say they like The Simpsons 'cos they're afraid of being treated like a social pariah if they admit it doesn't push their buttons. I wouldn't say I don't like The Simpsons but I definitely don't get The Simpsons. For me it's a bit, well.... meh...

20 years, some 400 plus episodes and I think I've only watched about 5 hours in total. It's never struck me as being particularly funny. Sure I've seen clips that have raised a smile and a chuckle but most of it seems to miss the target by a country mile. That spider-pig clip is a perfect example - it's just dumb! And I guess dumb doesn't equal funny in my book. I'm amazed they've managed to stretch an entire movie out of gags like that. In the UK, the way some celebs are fawning and being sycophantic over this film is nauseating. I'll wager most of them said they love The Simpsons so they could get a ticket to the premiere...

As far as seeing it is concerned, the choice for me is simple - Simpsons on DVD (to see what the fuss is about), Transformers on the big screen. No contest really...

The Simpsons is anything but dumb. It's nothing but wit. Especially in it's peak seasons (5-7 imo). The Simpsons is a show you have to watch three or four times to fully appreciate. It's chock full of alluisions to classic film, art, and literature under a layer slapstick that is just plain funny. I mean you're allowed to dislike it don't get me wrong. But don't call it stupid. Go read "Philosophy & the Simpsons: The D'oh Of Homer." It shows how The Simpsons is full of social and philosophical commentary

And Transformers really... It was completely dependent on reputation and special effects. It was a shell full of under developed characters and contained two blatantly out of place after-school special scenes towards the end courtesy of optimus prime.

The Simpsons is funny becuz it pokes fun at the typical american stereotypes. And you know thats always funny :D

Aww *hugs*

Yea it happens where I was too. Typical but I didn't mind. I thought it was a funny scene.

Not that good

Some of the TV episodes are a lot funnier and the film doesn't really make much use of the characters outside the family, which is kinda odd. The film is about pollution and barely features Mr Burns.

The plot has its moments, but its outcomes are obvious and it's much too long.

The film is just about ok, but, with hindsight, I would have waited to see it on TV. Overhyped.

I loved the movie!

.............spoiler........

I was sooo sad when Marge left Homer:cry::cry::cry:
