FTFY. I was inside one of those things for 9 months, and that was enough for me. I never want to go back in one of those again.
Now, i'll tell you what: If I walked into a room and it smelled like choco-tacos, i'd be VERY happy. . .and also a little concerned as to why my bedroom smells like ice cream, but yeah.

Asking "Is this a good time for this?" or "Are you sure this is the right time?" is always an option.
As for the smell of lube, if you want to get rid of it (or if you are using a silicone based lube which doesn't smell but clings to you for a million years) then I find the best thing is a hot shower. Your pores just get rid of it when you're warm enough.
